Seriously, 9kg
"Superlite"
I haven't enquired and at that weight I'm unlikely too :frown:
I'm not into racing or autoX, but 9kg per corner isn't happening on my car either. SE 17" Racing Harts are less
I can stop looking at them now, back to looking at RPF1's
Cheers

Well 15x7 would probably be in the vicinity of 8kg. I rang back to make sure I didn't confuse kg with lbs..... Dead set. No confusion

The performance minilites are lite in name only as they are a copy of the original magnesium minilites from the 60's made in pomgolia.

Personally, keep the daisies and if you want a second set of wheels, the good old enkei can't be beat.

Congrats - you've bought yourself an "old" new car! And it came from Coolangatta so will feel at home. You're doing the right thing with wheels as tyres are too old - just store them and find some 15's.
With a hardtop included I know you have a rare machine. Very tight and IMO its a bargain - came close to buying it myself but did not have malibu ready to sell.

Cheers trader. I was happy with the price. I haven't seen the car in the flesh yet but it certainly sounds like it's in good nick.

Can't wait. She turns up in the morning.

Re: Superlites

I looked into these type of wheels. IIRC Rota RBs are similar and about 7kg per corner. Watanabes are lighter again but get a whole lot more complicated as I don't think they're still available retail in Australia. There are a set of ok condition used ones up on gumtree somewhere at the moment for $800 I think. I like them but couldn't really justify spending close to a grand on buying and refurbishing old wheels.

Totally agree with that, but also agree with the comments that the car's so mint, keeping it stock has some real appeal, too.

For the price I would be looking at the 15's PCW's on gumtree - legal width at 6.5 can't confirm weight or offset suits.
The multi spoke is an old school look which suits the NA's. Not far from you either!

Agree watanabes would be great.
I'm not familiar with pcw's but will have a look. Cheers
