If I'm thinking about the same , then it was over 10years ago and all the "thief" did was use brute force to pull on the handle and snap it.
We need to be specific here, as "The Club" lock was the one that failed because the "u" shaped sections that holds onto the wheel itself wasn't welded strong enough onto the main shaft, but a similar designed one made by Aunger passed. The Aunger one is the one that is a square tube sliding inside a square tube.
They tested several steering wheel locks and the Aunger Prolock was the only one that passed/didn't break/couldn't be picked.
