Alignment Bolts and Bauer extended ball joints

Postby Red_Bullet » Wed Jun 08, 2016 11:58 am

A couple of questions.

1. A little while ago there was a group buy for the Bauer exteneded ball joints. I can't seem to find this thread so if anybody could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Hoping there might be a set still available. (the search function seems to be kaput on this board)

2. I'm replacing all 22 control are bushes and have bought the IL motorsport ones. The car has 208000 km on it, 1994 build. Should I replace all the alignment bolts or just the most heavily loaded ones while I'm at it? Which ones would be most likely to need replacement?

On the bolts, it would depend on how many times they have been stretched (tightened). Most shops do them up "As tight as you can humanly get them" hence will cause them to stretch.

I replace the alignment bolts once every 3/4 alignments and always send in some spares with the car just in case.

OK, I have all 8 new bolts now, new ball joints too, new bushes. Arms are pulled out, now I just have to sort out the puller for the bushes and pull my finger out so I will be ready for Morgan Park in July!

(Note to self...MAKE TIME TO DO THIS...WALK AWAY from the keyboard!)
