Mark
Did you pray for this 'rain event'? haha
yr.no predicts 111mm for my place Saturday, Caloundra 135mm but more inland even 20km to be far less - BOM has Redcliffe at around 70mm from Friday thru Sunday
All predict no rain Monday

I should be praying that I'm not needed on Monday for work, however I doubt that prayer would be listened to

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
Have you been pulling some strings Roger?
Sure you're in the right group?
Was very surprised to see myself bumped to Group 3.
But with what looks like possibly four new drivers plus three cars being run in Group 2 and again with 2nd drivers in Group 4 I can understand what Adam has done.
Good to know Adam. I'm fully prepared to drop back to Group 4 if it makes things smoother and any of the non-2nd drivers are running more appropriate times for Group 3 (68's & 69's).
Also if there's the option to 'bunch' the cars on the out lap until say Hungry (like we ended up doing at Morgan Park) then I might be safe in Group 3.
Having said that:
That's the name of the game and I'm all ears for advice and tips if anyone wants to come up and share some wisdom tomorrow.
This will be my third time out at Lakeside and I got to low 73's last time out in February.
Looking forward to it. Hoping this wind dies down tonight.

I didn't pay too much attention to the date. Just realized I have the day off. Wife wishes to to shopping to Northlakes. So a stopover at Lakeside might be in order. See you there maybe.

I took a look through the entry list. A few of the quicker regular entries aren't there this time around, so I'll be chasing Stu and the R33 too I suppose. I'll catch you yet, Stu

I'm sure you will Ross, I still have to rely on HP over youthful exuberance
As long as we finish with MX5s on the top step above the Datsun and Toybota

Good luck everyone, be safe. Hopefully get the SE out for a run at some stage, but unfortunately Mondays don't work very well for me.

Good day
Not too many dramas from what I saw.
I missed first two session, had to make a trip home to swap out a 6UL with two cracked spokes ( thanks Steampunk for spotting)
Congrats to Ross on great driving, FTD !

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
Awesome day.
Met and chatted to a heap more people than previously.
Firstly, thanks to Peter and Tom for dragging me to unexpected PB's. Straight down to 70.8 in the first session and finally breaking the 70 second barrier (69.7799) on the third to last lap of the day. (73.1 in Feb).
I struggled to keep those times when I wasn't chasing someone.
Secondly, a huge apology to everyone on turn 6 of the final lap of the combined Group 3 and 4 session.
I still don't really know what happened exactly.
Glad that everyone seemed to come out of it ok and there was some laughter back in pit lane.
Sorry, especially to Gary (221), I couldn't track you down to apologise in person afterwards (and probably shouldn't even have snuck ahead of you in the line up) and to Daniel (in the Honda). You probably copped the worst of it. Hope everything is ok with both of you.

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
Yeah, I didn't fair too well today... had a major "ran-out-of-talent" moment on the exit of carousel, followed the line of the car in front and didn't catch the rear stepping out. I was all wrong from the very beginning and looking back, I was just too keen to chase and ended up filling up the car with marbles/stones
Nothing major other than lots and lots of small rocks everywhere, and probably a wheel alignment or balance. Will know more once I've cleaned her up and had a good look. I'm sure I'll be down at the wheel alignment shop very soon
Shout out to Craig and Keith who were super, super helpful and loaned me some jacks, stands and tools - thanks guys! Very much appreciated and I owe you one!

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
You ain't the first. That exit gets a lot of people. My first day at Lakeside got me the same way. Back wheel and outer grass. I made contact though with armcos (which have now been replaced with concrete walls 3 meter further back). Was only enough damage to bend panels and crack plastic headlights. I'm pretty sure about 10,000 others had done it before me.
