10AE replacement fuel pump.
Hi guys, I own a 10AE that turns over but won't start. Mechanic has had a look and says that he can't hear the fuel pump. I am trying to source an aftermarket replacement as I have been quoted $1200 out of Japan for one from a dealer. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Subsie

Takes 5 minutes to remove it and look at it.
Also, no idea how he intends to hear the fuel pump over the engine cranking.

With no mechanical experience I replaced mine in a shopping centre Carpark in around an hour or two. After market replacement was around 150 for memory

They're not all audible with ignition on just prior to cranking.

I hope that is a typo.

Unlikley,
there are plenty of aftermarket ones as suggested. But that's probably what Mazda would charge. Get online & get some from either fleabay or one of the local suppliers & sponsors

Yeah, Mazda dealer quoted me $1800 five years for the complete fuel pump/ fuel gauge sensor assembly which mounts to the inside top of the fuel tank.
