Mazda Australia would be happy with that for a niche car!

Interesting.
That figure will tank when the Abarth is released.
Should pick up somewhat when the RF is released.

Will have to see about the Abarth.....
It depends on what version we get;
- the 'full fruit' Euro version. (sent to Italy for conversion)
- the 'styling exercise' US version. (parts fitted at the factory in Japan)
Beside we are not likely to see the Fiat or Abarth for quite a while yet (years for the Abarth?) when sales should be slowing anyway.
As for the RF?
I'll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh but it should bring in some fresh buyers who wouldn't otherwise consider a convertible (even a PRHT).

Couple of RF shots in Soul Red.
I didn't photoshop these, I found them on the web and slightly modified them.

I still think it looks half finished and horrible when viewed from the rear.

Why rear window so stripey?

I saw somewhere that the RF is 40kg heavier. All that weight, up high, not going to do the handling much good at all ...

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

hmm, so, weighs more, handles worse, costs more, looks worse. Despite this will probably sell like hot cakes..

As if 40kg is going to make a huge difference to the handling..
Even if this adds 40kg the RF ND will still be 13kg lighter than a late model NB

Two snaps taken in California. There are more than one pre-production model, now. At last count, there are some red ones, white ones, a black one and a silver one....

Looks like the Americans will have theirs in December and seeing as how we got our ND's about the same time as them, I'd bet we will see RF's in Oz before Xmas 2016...

Re: How many people r going to buy the new model ND
Got my ND 2.0 a few days back. First impressions are brilliant - really engaging to drive. Comfortable seats. Excellent seating position.
But a downer - my nav unit (mzd connect?) stopped working about ~5 hours after driving it back from the dealer. Just sits there on an animated boot logo. Took it to the closest mazda dealer near my house, and I've been informed that "it might be a problem with the CMU" - I couldn't quite get a good explanation as to what the CMU is, but from what I gather it's the electronic unit that runs the nav system? Now I have to wait for Mazda to authorize a replacement.
Anyone else have this issue?
