Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
I've finally paid the club.
Just bumping the thread as a reminder for others that the cut off for full discount price is this Monday (23/05). Only 16 days until trackday.
QR entry system is only showing 22 entries (no idea if that includes any double ups or if all have paid).

Has probably been discussed before. Would 5 or 6 lap runs be possible instead of the 4 lap runs?

Those only getting 4 laps need to go faster and not get lapped by the lead car.

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
5 lap runs as usual.
When we tried 7 lap /three groups there was moaning about
a) cars getting too hot
b) too little time between sessions
I will pay more attention to cars lapping others. If that occurs I will suggest they go up to the next group.

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
Entry fee paid last week - CTP for both cars organised today with Suncorp
Just have to get the old bones back in order after my 3,000km trip - lower back gone, knees gone, what's next?
Incidently, lower back went BEFORE I left, the 86 was fine but like any car I felt like a 90yo getting in and out!
In that whole trip I saw just TWO MX-5's - one red NA in Wagga Wagga and a white ND southbound near Murwillumbah yesterday. I won't count the 'fleet' at Patrick's of 2 x NA's, and auto NB8A and his new 'toy' the '07 NC hardtop
On the trip I set 'project 5.5' to see if I could attain 5.5L/100km or better out of the 86 at normal road speeds. Yes! 5.48 from Sutton Forest to Bulahdelah and then 5.41 from Grafton to Bribie Island Road

With that economy Roger I now feel less guilty about using dead dinosaur juice at a prodigious rate in a 265 hemi with triple webers and an expected economy measured in litres used per kilometre.....

'Dead Dinosaur Juice'? I looked at both BP & Shell and couldn't find that on any pump! Where do I get it?
It was an interesting exercise Matt, drive the car as normal and see what it returns. A few offline have said 'you drive at 75kph the entire trip?' No, far from it! In fact the best return included that beautiful drive from Ballina to home, no lights and most 110kph but also included around 15 mins to go maybe 200-300m on the gateway at Nudgee. What I did find was when cooler in the morning it was not as good as when the temp got say, over 20c - from Sutton Forest it read 4.9 at the start of the M7, 5.0 as I TL onto Pennant Hills Road and 5.2 when starting the M1 at Hornsby
It helps pass the time on a long trip!

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
One week to go - just heard Ch9 forecast of somewhere around 100mm for the SE from Friday and over the weekend!
yr.no.com has nothing like that in their long range forecast
http://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Queens ... /long.html
I can handle the latter

Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD TRACK DAY-LAKESIDE 6 JUNE 2016
Every forecast I've seen, specifically regarding the wet weather 'event', has been Friday-Saturday, possibly stretching to Sunday. Hope they're right, clear skies and 17c highs on Monday would be perfect track conditions.

Only because I have to work, but I could pray for a Noah style rain event for Monday if that would help

Mark - you think I should get a CTP for the tinnie? Maybe this supposed 'rain event' is why I'm having trouble walking!
I know! Floaties down the main straight!!!
