Robbins Top and gomiata.com experience

Postby Inksta » Sat May 14, 2016 5:02 pm

Just wanted to share some info:

My Robbins vinyl soft top w/ glass window developed a tear along the edge of the window a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty disappointed given that it's only 18 months old. I had expected longer life.

I garage the car most (but not all) of the time.

However I can vouch for their customer service - after showing them photos they are arranging to have a new one sent out.

I originally purchased the top from gomiata and so have to go through them to get the replacement top sorted out. Pretty terrible customer service, but I can see from a little reading on here that they are usually terrible in that department.

In short:
My Robbins top only lasted 18 months, but they're sending me a new one.
gomiata.com customer service is non-existent - beware!

Robbins softtops are available locally from Soft Tops Online. Excellent customer service.

I found that out several years ago so nothing's changed.

Makes no sense.
They are sending a new one and yet you're complaining about their customer service?

1green5: I don't think I described the situation properly. As the manufacturer, Robbins authorised the replacement. Their customer service was good. gomiata are the middle men, who I think would prefer I did not exist.

Thanks for the link, might be useful next time. Although Soft Tops Online don't list the top I was after (vinyl, glass with no heater, original style). And the tops they do have are a few hundred dollars more (I guess one area that gomiata save money on are their staff?).
