Re: My new NB8b
You've already got the Tupperware skirts on the car which make the car look half-finished to me without matching flares so adding them would improve the aesthetics IMO.
They're a good looking rim and the colour well-suited to the car (I HATE black rims).

Agreed that a good quality flare would look good, however flares will not stop you getting defected again with those wheels.
It's the increase in track that's illegal, not the fact that they stick out from the arches.

Well the cop that defected me said it was that the stuck out, and the girl at Vic roads who un defected it really didn't know anything about cars at all..
I think one would get away with it otherwise..
What do you mean by increase in track? These wheels are the 15x8 surely that is not illegal

Re: My new NB8b
Yes, 15x8 wheels with a low offset like that are illegal because of the increase in track. HOWEVER, you are less likely to get defected for it if they don't poke out of the arches. It just goes from a really obvious 'no-brainer' defect to a 'bad day' defect. So if you want to keep the wheels, do something to get the arches out over them..... but realise that you can still get defected for it.
Nice car though

Re: My new NB8b
Does anyone know if I can 'pull' the arches to make it look right? The car is lowered and has had a camber kit installed and I really don't want to be buying tyres every 3 months..
So I think I'd need an inch or so pull on the arches

I don't know if you can pull arches that far out. That's for a more knowledgeable person to say.
But welcome, and a great looking car you have there.

Track is distance from centre of wheel to centre of other wheel on same axle.
15x8 would be ok with a sensible offset that didn't make them stick out. You can get 15x8 that fit within guards without even needing the guard lips rolled.
For the record, you can legally increase track by 25mm & rim width by 25mm. This is to prevent greatly increasing the stresses on wheel hubs, & suspension components.

Re: My new NB8b
Ask Corey what he did to make his fit (I use that term loosely but they do look great on his car) viewtopic.php?f=57&t=68674&start=45
The wheels will be illegal with flares, like RS2000 said, it's the increase in track that stresses the suspension that's the issue, not whether they poke out or not. The police are just doing their jobs, it's easy to add one to the quota when they stick out like that.
My first though would e swapping to the 15x7 +20 grids, still illegal technically, but they fit much better and will not get nearly as much attention from the police.

Man! You were only just asking if these wheels would fit - they don't, and the police pinged you for it in record time. It beats me how this can happen so quick - were you doing burnouts out the front of the police station?
There's a red NB in Brisbane with a set of flares on it - looks good. There's a shot of it in the QLD spotted thread not too long ago. If you got a set and mock attached them with some double sided tape, you could check if you like the look before diving in.
If you're careful you can get a pretty good result with rattle can and clear coat which is cheap.
