Hi all
I'm looking for a Robbins vinyl soft top with glass demister in tan for my NB. Not fussed about zipper or not, whichever is cheapest. Where is the cheapest place I can buy one? Is it better to buy it directly online from the states?
I rang a local supplier who referred me to a handful of auto trimmers. One quote so far for $2100 fitted!
Another said buy it online and they will fit it for me for ~$600.
Advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Suspect ebay may be the cheapest source for a Robbins soft-top.
$500-$600 for labour seems to be about the going rate for soft-top skin replacement.

Re: Cheapest source for a Robbins soft top?
I bought mine from the states from an eBay seller - they didn't sell the model I wanted (blue canvas + glass + demister), but I just sent them a message and they ordered one in for me. I paid around $950 AUD shipped from memory (the dollar was a little better too), but that is much more expensive than the vinyl ones.
I did have fitment issues with mine (seems unusual for the brand), and there isn't much you can do about it when the seller is in the states (and they always blame you if you fit it yourself). But still, it was about half the price of anything equivalent in AUS.

Just a couple of pts. If you buy from EBay try to find a seller that uses the Ebay "Expedited International Shipping" it was $77 aus to ship a glass windowed top to Aus compared to other shipping quotes around $350.
You were considering a zippered window version, I have had one and it was really difficult to use,had to hold the zip together because of the weight, almost needed 3 hands!
My latest top ,tan vinyl glass window EZ-on brand was about $470 landed.
Good luck,
Peter.

Yes! Forgot to mention about the shipping - this is why I went through a known eBay seller instead of just getting a shop in the states to send it to me. The eBay shipping was like $80 instead of $200-400!

Re: Cheapest source for a Robbins soft top?
Earlier this year I bought a Robbins top from GoMiata in the states. Shipping was US$120 which is currently around AU$154. I was happy with that as I wanted to buy from a known seller. The communication was great, although the shipping time was around 4 weeks from order.

If anyone else needs the info after a bit of searching I ended up paying US$462 for a Robbins cloth top with demister from Topsonline.com
Shipping was US$146 and it arrived from the US within a week!
I found a very nice guy here in SA, Roger, who installs soft tops for $350. His info is here:

He also does seat reupholstering.
