Well after 6 months of looking for an NC manual hard top I decided to expand my horizons. I tried a turbo NA, S2000, and MR2 Mk3. In the end it was my fiance who won out, we went with an auto NB8A in green. I would have probably preferred the manual NC in some respects but I think my overall life will be happier in following my fiance's preference. Who knows, in 5 years I may have the cash for an ND anyway. In the meantime, I'm keen to make the NB the 'best' I can, for our purposes. That is, daily driver that's also fun in the hills.
Here she is:
First thing I want to fix is the soft top. I've uploaded a whole album of the NB's current condition here:

As you can see the soft top is looking a bit sad. Not sure if it's worth repairing or just replacing. I'm tempted to just replace the whole thing with a tan / brown top which I think would go nicely with the green. Example of top colour:

Other things on the to-do list:
- Remove the sun visors
- Fix mystery squeak in rear suspension area
- New wheels. Not a huge fan of the stock ones, and also these have some gutter rash. However the tyres are new 195/50s and I've been considering replacing the wheels with some 15x8.5s, which I guess would require new tyres. Seems kind of wasteful, might keep these for a bit.
- Fix the rusty wheel hubs. Might follow this tutorial:

- Fix up the paint chips
- Cut and polish
- Fix cloudy headlights
- Exhaust system
- Replace seats with lower ones
Any advice on the above much appreciated
