Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was wondering what sorts of discounts might be available now that the car has been out for just under a year?

Still a fair amount of demand so discounts would be a rare thing at this point.

Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
Had a conversation with an ND owner today that suggest that $2000 is the least you could expect to get off with a no trade.Obviously if you want some profit loaded extra's then you may do better. And colour etc will play a part.
Always amazes me that some people say thay get a discount when they they have a trade in,the only relevant factor then is the change over price.
Had a run in a 2ltr ND and it is a much more potent device than the 1.5, the owner thought it was on a par with my" exhausted "NC but even with fairly low klms on a seat of the pants assessment I had the ND slightly in front.Still prefer the predicability of the NC suspension over the"Lean into the corner then settle "ND set up.
The sound of the NC was mutually agreed to be far better!
Peter.

If they can sell all the cars quick then you get nothing. People often tell lies to make you think they are master negotiators. You want one ypu buy it.

Imagine with the 2.0 litre arriving here only 4 months ago that a discount, if any, will be minimal.

Stilletto is welcome to put his head in the sand. I was not suggesting that Taipan was a fibber- was that what PCM thought I said?

No Mr M any logical analysis of what appears to be your response to what my friend told me would have you implying HE is a liar.
Cannot be bothered anymore ,he got that discount and the discount on extras. If others don't that is their problem, and buying conditions vary for many reasons, end of story. He also had a number of cars to select from and only the Geelong dealer was not prepared to negotiate ! Real, current experience not speculation.

Reading the OP and then the first reply, I think that Rocky said it all when he wrote....

Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
Hi everyone.
New to the forums and wanted to appeal to the collective wisdom here. I'm quite keen on a 2.0L Roadster GT with a MT
Firstly, is it possible to aim for about 10% to 15% off the RRP as I would with say a German? Or is Mazda in Australia a bit tighter on discounting?
Secondly can anyone recommend the better dealers in Brisbane? I am planning on buying a CX-5 as well as the MX-5 and don't want to mess around with idiots if I can avoid it.
Thanks in advance and look forward to chatting more as time goes on.
Mike.

Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
Thirty odd years ago I was selling Datsuns.
All -new MQ Diesel Patrol was released - family friendly 4WD for its day.
They were fully imported, quite desirable and dealers were on strict allocation (maybe one or two a month).
Guy barrels into our showroom, demanding to know "how much discount".
Sales Manager quietly reminded him the big deal was not that he wanted to buy one, but we had one to sell.
Supply and demand.

Nice story.
Thought I asked a fair question though and didn't expect to hit a nerve so quickly.
Should I take it that in your humble opinion I should just be lucky to buy one then?
Thanks in advance.

MikeVictor, Why would you even bother to ask here, after all, we are just the general populace. Dealers are so termed because they are.
