Yeah, bit disappointing we couldn't muster up the support. Thanks to Adam for the effort to make it happen.

So it'll be July before my QR debut opportunity.
And that's "under review".

Did just see on the club site that it looks like we can head back to Morgan Park for another full Saturday in July. So it's not all bad.

Might head out on the Brisbane club run on Sunday 10th April now that the 11th is off.

Just looking at the QR Calendar there appears to be very few clubs holding events throughout the year :( Was curious...

Yes thanks to Adam as well.

Will be at QR on 10/04 (General Practice) so no club run.

Just seen that Mt Cotton hillclimb has an event on 9th and 10th April.
Now that I have a CAMS licence I think it's time to make a few phone calls 8)

Good luck Ian!

I'm off to QR on 09/04 for Street Sprints round 2 then General Practice 10/04.

The CAMS licence will also allow you to do general practice at Morgan Park :)

I'm less inclined to run QR's own events, worse value for money and typically a bit more traffic with mismatched lap times. That being said, there's a general practice/open sprints day at Lakeside on April 16th which I think I will run instead of the qr club day. A full day at Lakeside makes up for half a day at qr, even if it will mean roughly the same number of laps in the end.

I agree on lack of value at QR, but at least for me it is close. Further the 2 x general practices I have attended the track has not been crowded and easily got in 40+ laps of the national in the morning sessions.

But, work has decided to send me away and whilst I have negotiated time at home to coincide with track days there is no guarantees.

I'm not a fan of "only lakeside" and if the club is destined to do only that, then I'm sure other people might be less motivated to attend which means the viablity of that goes into question and so on... and on....

Lakeside is described as a dangerous and unforgiving track - and certainly feels that way to anyone who's dríven at both (heck even Doug mentions that at every driver briefing !!)

I agree that Adam has done a brilliant job of running the events - no question.

Not sure if that's possible, but maybe if we could have the details of track cost so we can appreciate how much we missed the event by?? Would be good to have a bit more transparency around the decision as if we missed by only a few entrants then it seems a bit harsh to pull the plug (maybe another $15 each and it would have gone ahead), equally if we were down by 15 enterants, then the cost model isn't workable - getting a turn out of 35+ people on a weekday just might not be achievable on a regular basis ?! is the cost of the track hire getting higher such that we simply need to raise the entry fee?

As a community, maybe these things need to be openly discussed ???

The entry fee has already been raised Grant, it jumped $15pp this year. QR had been gradually increasing the cost my small amounts for a few years, but the club has resisted increasing the end cost for as long as they can. Adam has said the breakeven point is 40 entries, at $145pp that's $5800. Assuming 100% of that money goes to QR and only the excess would go to the club, that put us at only $3480 for this round from 24 entries, still over $2300 short.
