PAINT GUN REPORT
iv'e sprayed a few cars over the year from my SE turbo to Mustangs but yesterday I decided to try a gravity feed gun for the second time. first one I purchased a couple years back I didn't like.
I was looking at the super cheap catalogue on line and saw the blackridge pro gravity feed air spray gun. normally $90 on special for $55 so I sent the wife over to buy me one.
well that's an online price and its $90 in the shop but if you buy on line $55 and you pick it up in 1.5 hours.
I've got to say it is the best gun I've used to date and the spray pattern is great. to do a test run my daughter bought a Honda euro body kit raw and I painted the lot in about 3 hours from scratch.
if your after a good gun -buy one its a great buy and well ahead of those suction jobs which splatter paint. if I could think of a better colour for my white se which I can't ...lol I'd rub the clear off and re-paint the whole car -so that's how good I think it is.
choice is yours but for $55 a bargain!
at the moment I am now re-spraying the front bar on the se so will throw up a pho later.

Re: PAINT GUN REPORT
What sort of compressor are you running it on?
Standard home style single piston? or a bigger one?

blackridge PRO gravity feed air spray gun. in the shop at supercheap you will pay $90 but online its on special for $55
they won't or they wouldn't sell it out of the shop for $55 so I bought online and picked it up 1.5 hours later -same shop!...lol
I gotta say its one friggin good gun. even up to the top coat clear -a really nice finish and no splatter

Picking mine up at lunch time. Supercheap are pretty responsive with their web sales and very willing to help.

Nice! I use an air gunsa and run the same compressor. The filler next to the gun is also awesome stuff to work with ;)

Re: PAINT GUN REPORT
The best thing to do with spray guns is talk to an Automotive paint retailer to industry- i.e. this is where the paint shops get their paint and matches. Buying through SCA and the like is problematic because the guys selling them generally now nothing about the products- fine if you are full bottle. The automotive paint suppliers cannot afford to sell poor quality or guns with no service. You can buy a Sprayquip siphon full size gun for under $100 and they have a guarantee and spare parts are available. you need at leat 8CFM to spray a car. The Star gun is very popular as a touch up gun. The siphon guns don't need as much air as the same pot size gravity guns ( HVLP) - i.e. that what the acronym is high volume low pressure and if you don't have a big compressor then the gun may well not keep up- I was advised not to buy one. The seller should be able to advise what is suitable. The Blackridge gun apparently requires 100 litres minute. In essence make sure the gun will match the compressor / delivery equipment.
