Summer is near over thank god. Autumn is the time of the year we go for "THE BIG DRIVE" roof down all the way . This years run will be Sydney Canberra Cooma Thredbo Mt Hotham Bright Paynesville Melbourne ferry to Tassie and do the big lap back to Melbourn Great Ocean Rd Adelaide up to the Adelaide wine country then head towards Griffith Orange then home
Whats this to do with Luggage well we need to take enough cloths and stuff with us for 4 weeks last time we did a trip the same our only regret
was been unorganised . We had a full 7 piece luggage set for another car we owned and it made life so easy .
So whats out there we can purchase local or OS that fills our need ?

I am not speaking from experience, but I often see this sort of stuff from I.L. Motorsport, here are a few links from their website:

Something from here http://www.mossmiata.com/Browse/PlateMenuProducts.aspx?WebCatalogID=38&PlateTypeID=1&SubcomponentID=283&ComponentID=35
Are you going to take a spare or use something like Slime or a plug repair kit?
Another way is to send stuff ahead to where you will be staying next or packing light and washing frequently.

Re: Luggage
I'd just pack a week's worth and stop at a laundry along the way.
I don't even own enough clothes to go 4 weeks without washing.
As for fitting stuff in, avoid hard bags if you can, try and stick to soft bags like sports bags etc, they conform much better to the MX5 boot.

Re: Luggage
I fit one quite large and one medium sized suitcase in the boot of my NA (plus other things squished around those!) by relocating the spare wheel to behind the passenger seat... my partner did not feel cramped with the reduced legroom but if your partner is really tall they might, but I think this is a good compromise to enable much more boot space.
I also have one of these: http://www.boot-bag.com/mx5.htm but have not yet had occasion to use it.
