Turbo exhaust heat shield fabricators? [BRIS]

Postby NicTheMx5 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 11:46 pm

Is there anyone in the Brisbane area who is handy with fabricating turbo exhaust manifold heat shields?
Before you ask, yes I've tried DIY but it hasn't turned out very well... EVERYTHING IS MELTING!
I'm running a TD05 Greddy kit (see pictures). It's all quite an awkward shape and lots of things are in the way (mainly heater hoses), hence my failure at self attempt.

firstly, get nopro washer bottle and totally remove that from the equation.

have you tried some gold heat tape on those hoses?

what about silicone hoses?

Heat shield material from Ebay and a Turbo blanket made a heap of difference on the white car.
Just a couple of bent brackets to support the cover. Now all the hoses aren't melting :D :D

Ebay turbo blanket is holding up ok?
I've heard some pretty bad "fire" related things about even name brand turbo blankets, so I've just stayed away.

Also washer relocation kit is on its way in the mail!

Actually also keeping in mind this is a daily driver, so it wouldn't be every second weekend at the track sort of thing either.
So not sure how long they would last in this situation. Anyone have any advice or knowledge on the matter?

I did make a cover up for that kit when it was on my car, it was made from ACL heat shield from super cheap.
