Here are the results on the front (see somewhere above for a shot of the freshly machined disk before bedding). Note the wiped section of the wheel - the wheel was clean before the bedding procedure:

...and the results on the rear. The rear pads don't appear to be applying much/and pressure to the rotor towards the middle, and there is no transferred material there. Any suggestions?

My first impression of the W3 is that it has a load more initial bite and braking torque than the TRW pads that I removed. After four hard stops in quick succession, I did feel just a little fade, but nowhere near the fade of the TRW pads (which while nice on the street, began to feel a little wooden with heavy use).

Lots of dust, even on the rear, and the tiniest squeal coming to a stop at low speed.

May need to apply a little more brake pressure to get some transfer onto the rears. Did you follow the bed in procedure? I did not find the W3's too dusty however the W5's and 6.5's are another story.

By the way you should come and try some dirt sprints, will learn heaps of car control.

Do you mean with adjustment of the rear, pedal pressure? Most stops I did were hitting the a pretty firmly. Maybe I need to find a better surface.

The dirt sprints look like fun (just watched your YouTube clip).

No more brake pedal pressure, from memory the last bed in is at about 80% pressure, this is quite a lot. Unless you have a bias adjuster you will have to live with the OEM bias. If you have ABS just before it kicks in should be sufficient. It maybe worth greasing the sliders as well just in case there is a little binding.

Dirt sprints were fun, have quite a few 'moments'.

In other news, the ODO tipped over 76,000 while I was bedding the brakes. That makes it 4661km since I acquired the car in February 2014.

That's 45 km per week average.

One Motorkhana/khanacross, two or three Mount Cotton hillclimbs, one day at Warwick, two Noosa Hillclimbs and the Cootha Classic. Only 7 events in two years! The first year I didn't do any events due to uncertain tune/faulty computer/new ECU challenges as well as a house move mid year. Hopefully the average starts to improve, but now with three kids under four, weekends are premium time. Any time is premium time!

While I was out for a drive yesterday, I made a point of driving over some railway lines. I can confirm that frogarms do indeed make the railway line crossing experience a little more refined...

Oakey Street Sprints is on 16-17 April and is out for me, as I've got an important family event. Interestingly, Hans Devices have been made compulsory for this event for drivers using a harness.

Yes, although the weather turned about halfway through and I struggled with damp roads and traction when braking - lots of ABS intervention towards the end

The dirt sprints look like fun. I think i'd want a different filter location for those events though - front passenger bumper might get just a little dusty...

Nope not together, won't be by Saturday either. It could have been but since I withdrew a few weeks ago did not worry about being slack

I will be the only mx5 in attendance. Several rx7's and an rx3 will fly the Mazda flag.

It's a bit off putting that all the advertising is geared to the burnout comp, while most of the event will be sprint. The Facebook page is full of "gunna brung the fuggen commie down mate?"

I'm planning to camp onsite, but google earth does not make it look inviting. Pitch a tent on a gravel car park? I might bring a tarp and sleep in the ute.
