NC windblocker

Postby pcmx5 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 12:31 pm

I have a friend who wants to put in a larger WB in her NC2.wants a clear one rather than mesh.Anyone bought one recently,MX5 parts UK have one that attaches to the original mounts ,for about $240 landed here.

Any first hand advice greatly appreciated,

Peter.

Hi Peter,
Have you considered fabricating one yourself? Perspex and velcro until you get it sorted and the look at using the original mounts as per. The tabs on either side suggest that the wind load would be quite high.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

I agree with Greg,

Perspex is not too difficult to work with (leave the protective paper on it to prevent scuffs), and if the factory windblocker is able to be unscrewed from the hinges you may be able to simply attach the new one to them.

Any tabs or braces required to stop it flapping around up higher can be made from some aluminium, again, easy to work with hand tools (and able to be polished up rather well so it looks nice)
