Can I attach 6 point nut straps to LATCH anchors?

Postby Racing Logic » Wed Jan 27, 2016 9:05 pm

The later model NBs have LATCH anchor points for child seats. They are reinforced brackets bolted through the rear bulkhead at about the height of the seat bottom which attach to some child seats overseas. As they are a reinforced safety mounting point Can I attach clips of my 6 point harness nut straps to LATCH anchors?
Cheers

Only if you want crushed nuts.

Google harness mounting points and that will give you the recommended locations.

Looks like a big NO. Can't be more than 20 degrees back from vertical

I'd just go to any race supplier and buy some eye bolts (or regular harness bolts) and some spreader plates.

Drill a hole in the floor wherever you want the belt to mount, then screw the eyebolt into the spreader plate/captive nut that you place under the car (few dabs of sikaflex stop it moving while you screw it in)

I did this to put an NA6 style seatbelt stalk into my NB
