And the brake supplier is sending new rotors and hats. There was an issue with these when they were machined apparently.
He wants me to destroy both the hat and rotor so they can't be used again. I will keep them as wall art.

I haven't really done anything to the car. The rotors are on there way, better be here before next weekend. As I need them for the first round at Phillip Island.
Seeing as my new tow car (SS/V VF2 wagon) won't be delivered as promised, I will be driving this down. At least the new tyres (A050's) will be scrubbed in.
Really looking forward to having a crack with some grippy tyres. Last time I did the 1:47.1 the car was sliding too much. It would have gone a 1:46.5 on the last session I believe. So these tyres are supposed to be 2 seconds faster = 1:44.5. Throw the wing on = 1:43.5.
We will see how far I am wrong on my predicted times. I will be happy with a 1:44.xx

Got a new Mazda 3 for running around in (wife's car). Straight from the dealer to the tyre shop. It is sitting on 18x8 and 18x9 TE37 reps. Would look good lowered, but I might leave it as is. It's a Touring, the cheapest Maxda 3 with leather.

What are you talking about.
It HAS been lowered, and windows tinted, and blacked out mirror.

I don't have a diffuser. There is an undertray on the front now.

Almost ready for the next track day. The new rotors arrived, and have been assembled and installed. I put matching pads on the rear, but they needed some trimming to fit as they are for an NB8A. Really looking forward to seeing how it goes now.

Those AO50's look delicious.

New undertray looks good too.

Interested to hear the difference between with and without the undertray.

I will never know if the front splitter/undertray will work. There is no way to tell if it's just the tyre.
That is why I won't run the wing in the first session, so I can get an idea of how much the tyres make a difference.

Well that was an interesting day at Phillip Island.
Practice session I bed in the brakes. 1st session was about getting a feel for the car with the new tyres and aero. I started pushing it a bit from the first flying lap, then got fuel surge in turn 2. Thought it might have been a one off, as it's never happened before. But next lap it was even worse. So pulled it in. It had almost half a tank of fuel. So filled it to the top. And the wing plus spoiler combo was creating so much drag the top speed was down 21km/, with a best of 1:46.4 without getting up to speed (only 2 laps with a new combo isn't enough).
I figured I will try it without the wing, big mistake. With the new front splitter and big undertray, it was a loose pig to drive. Did 2 laps again, and the session was red flagged. Best of 1:47.0
I noticed a leak from the thermostat housing. Pulled it, cleaned it, put new silicon on. And it leaked worse. Took it off, and noticed a crack in the housing. Day over
This car will do the times, I know it. Just got to get some luck, and get my sh*t sorted. Who has had a thermostat housing failure? Seriously wtf?
I will try and upload a video ASAP with split screen showing with and without the wing. It's insane the difference. Aero balance is so important. And for you guys playing at home, make sure your aero is strong and mounted well. I had a partial failure of the undertray at 220km/h.

Under tray failure...ouch!

How have you fastened the under tray? I'm going to do that for my Integra.
