Caliper and disk painting on SE

Postby Kav » Tue Jan 12, 2016 8:22 pm

Hi All!

I am looking at having the SE brake calipers and disks painted. I have a red SE with black buddyclub wheels.

Wondering if anyone has any pics of their car with painted calipers?

I am thinking of dark grey caliper with grey disks (like some of the AMGs setups)... I think red is too cheap looking (or maybe colour marched to body is ok?)...

Just wanted to canvass opinions.

Thanks!

Also needs those blue pads made out of crayon so the colour will stay on the rotors.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

... dude's colour blind - the really sad thing is that he thinks he's driving a red truck and none of his mates wants to tell him otherwise (he just LOVES his "red" truck 'coz it's faster and looks hot)

Kav, the guys are having a laugh with you. Whatever you do, do not paint your disks! Think about it. The AMG ones might be carbon, so the metal is a different colour, but it is not painted.

Paint your calipers if you really really really want to, but don't paint the pads or the disks or you will have an accident next time you try to stop your car.

I understand painting the hub section of the disk, as this is the part that gets all surface rusty and ruins the look of your new wheels

I think dark grey is the least conspicuous and the most 'natural' looking on brakes.
