Re: How many people r going to buy the new model ND
If I buy an ND to go with the Compomotive wheels I have in the shed for one they may get a chance!!
I know they have ideas for an NC system but haven't had a car to experiment with and would want to do before and after dyno testing so it may happen one day.
ND rear muffler certainly presents challenges with most aftermarket ones having muliple loops of pipe to get the muffler over to start on the passenger side, allowing a reasonable muffler body size to RH exit.
Peter.

Re: How many people r going to buy the new model ND
As far as the space saver goes, it will definitely fit an Australian ND!
I know this for a fact, had a set of NB wheels on my car for a week, while I was painting my original wheels.
The reason why it wouldn't fit the yank models is, they have the 17" wheels, although, it did fit with a spacer. We don't need one, smaller 16" wheels, rotors and calipers.
Of course, that's on the original ND with the 1.5litre engine. 2.0Litre job has the larger wheels again, 17", so back to a spacer if you are silly enough to want to sacrifice your boot space for a space saver.

2.0 cars, therefore including all USA cars, have bigger brakes so it's possible NA/NB space save sits 1.5 but not 2.0?
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Automotive plus already have an off the shelf solution for the 1.5 ND. I can't imagine the 2.0 differs greatly.

They may do a cheaper version of the HKS item early in the new year.
Cheers,

They look great,do they have any data on increase in power or torque?
I had a HKS on my NC and it made power and sounded wonderful from in the car, almost like a BMW six,but didn't draw much praise from outside, not that that worried me.I didn't buy it as it was on the car when I got it but it cost a lot more than $995 so pleased to see that price.

Hi Peter, only the Road/Race model has made it onto the dyno. 1.5l model.

Hi Peter, I have the Road/Race item on my daily dríven and ND and find it to be a great addition to the car. When highway cruising it's almost silent. Drop it down a gear and bury the right foot and it comes alive.
Cheers,
Danny

Re: How many people r going to buy the new model ND
Wonder when there'll be a fix for the gear change indicator? Sooo annoying, and so often just wrong, especially in the 1.5 which needs to always be in a gear lower than the 2.0.

The gear change indicator is a waste of space, they should have made it a digital speedo

Returning to the title of this thread ...
917 sales of MX-5 in 2015. All but a handful of those were NDs ... in only five months.

Looks like my prediction is on target so far.

And in line with one per dealer per month (plus a few extras for launch "stock").
If you want one, please plan ahead.
