I live about 30 mins from the event so anybody that has a distance to travel and needs a place to park or stop and check their car before scrutineering let me know.
14. SCRUTINY: Scrutiny will be on site from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday 4th March, REFER TO TRACK MAP. All vehicles must be scrutinised prior to participating: only authorised vehicles may compete. Vehicle to be presented to scrutiny in “race ready” condition – i.e. no changes to be made to the vehicle after it has been through scrutiny.
The following documents must be presented at scrutiny:
Current CAMS Competition Licence/CAMS Pass Book – organised prior to the event via CAMS
Current CAMS-affiliated car club Membership Card
CAMS Vehicle Log Book (where issued)

Vehicles having current registration in Queensland under the “Transport Operations (Road Use Management-Vehicle Registration) Regulation 1999” require a Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTPI) Extension valid for this event.

Apparel, including helmets and footwear must be produced at scrutiny and on request during the meeting.
Catering: On site catering will commence in the paddock from approximately 7:00am on Saturday 5th March 2016, and will be available from early morning Sunday 6th March 2016 concluding at approximately 2.00pm. Please consider supporting our local sponsors for your Friday night meal.
Paddock Area: Each competitor is allocated a 6Mtr x 5Mtr site for camping, sites allocated on a first in basis. Toilet & Hot Shower facilities will be available on site. For each competitive vehicle, only one other support vehicle is allowed per site, either a camp vehicle or a service vehicle. Passes will be issued for these support vehicles. Additional vehicles can be parked close by – please ask organisers for areas to be used.

Re: Gatton Street Sprints 05 & 06 March 2016
A couple quick things:
- the designation of the CAMS licenses on the entry form doesn't seem to [i]quite[i] align with those on the CAMS website, which shows the Level 2 licenses as L2S, L2SJ for Level 2 Speed, and L2NS and L2NSJ for Non Speed, whilst the event cites 2S/2SJ, Level 2SE Licences. Just wondering what the differences were - I assume the event is requiring L2S and L2SJ licenses
- I gather the process for getting these CAMS licenses is simply completing the form and paying the associated fee
- MX5CCQ appears on the CAMS website as CAMS affiliated. I gather this would be sufficient to meet the CAMS affiliated club requirement

L2S should be sufficient. Best to confirm with the organisers. For WTAC, Cootha Classic and Noosa Hill Climb the L2S has been accepted. Fill the forms out, pay the money and your done.
MX5CCQ - yep is CAMS affiliated, all you need to do is add your membership number. Important to remember to have your current membership card with at scrutiny.
So your are going?

yes 2S licence is all that is needed, just fill in the form and pay the dollars to CAMS. If you are handy to the CAMS office in Milton you can do it all over the counter, and you will need your membership card.
It is a great event, I haven't had the opportunity to run it but have worked with the guys in Council who help get the approvals through for the event to be run. Also this year it will be a two lap run around the course rather than the previous one lap dash.

Cross posted:
Gatton Sprints was a great experience - this is what it all looked like on Friday evening after scrutineering:
This is after I'd tracked down the single tent pole I needed for my tent, but had forgotten. Fortunately the local homebrew shop is also a camping supplies place, and were able to sort me out. It turned out I'd also forgotten to pack a spoon, which makes muesli rather tricky.
Here's the track map. It was run in the 'uphill' (clockwise) configuration, and for the first time, in a two lap arrangement which was very popular with the competitors:
On day two, there were three cars on track at a time, and it worked quite well.
My car was placed in the Sports Cars over 3 liter class due to the turbo, and there were three cars in this class. A Cobra replica with a Lexus V8 and Brett Curran of Toowoomba driving this Corvette:
At the close of day 1 (Saturday) I was in 2nd place, behind Brett by .019 seconds.
The concrete claimed two scalps over the weekend. The first was this Silvia from Rockhampton on the Saturday. I did not see this, but the sound of crunching automobile was plain:
The second was this Mini:
During the course of Sunday, Brett and I traded times until in our final runs of the day we each produced a time in the 1:15 range that was separated at the third decimal place in my favor. They did tell me the exact time time, but I don't remember it, and it has not been published yet on the Downs Motorsport Club website. This landed me the first place in the over 3 liter class.
I was very happy to also take home the outright win for Sports Cars (all capacities).
Andrew Byrne driving a Datsun Stanza was camped next to me, and had some great stories to tell; the food was impressive, and the burnout competition drew a huge crowd (I went to bed, and can confirm it was just as loud inside my tent). In all it was a very well run event, and a REALLY exciting track, for both the drivers and the spectators.
