The system will never have the full feature set of a Megasquirt 3, for example, but its designed to do the the things people care the most about and do them well. Someone converting to forced induction is a perfect example where you might not care about being able to have 3 different, switchable ignition tables or do flex fuel or anything like that, but you do need to be able to do your or injection and spark maps. That's what this is designed to do well.
Currently its still only available in a kit form, meaning you put it together yourself, but I do definitely have plans to do a version that is much simpler to 'mass' (say batches of say 20-30 at a time) manufacturer. They will also benefit from better component pricing etc, so I think $200 is a good goal to try and hit for those.
