Thanks.

Sandown was a good day for testing. The catch can works a treat. The new radiator and ducting are working awesome. The turbo didn't come loose. So very happy.
But, there are some issues. The oil feed line on the turbo is leaking creating some smoke from oil burning on the manifold.
And the brakes don't seem to want to work at that speed. The hub centric rings have been on the many cars over the years. But after yesterday, they are dead. See pic. So thanks to the Beavis, I now have a solution. See pic.

And the day was WRX Rexmas day, and is run as a fun day at 80%. Obviously I went over the 80%, but tried to keep the car tidy as to not draw attention. The Racechrono was showing a best of low 1:23's, with an optimal lap of 1:22.45. So on a proper track day, with working brakes, I see a 1:21 happening. So cool to be able to pass cars on the straights now. :)

Here is some data for comparison.

Front straight - Turbo 204km/h, N/A 177km/h. NA8B 183km/h, WRX 205km/h.

Back straight - Turbo 207km/h, N/A 173km/h. NA8B 180km/h, WRX 210km/h.

I bought some metal hub centric rings cheap off ebay.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Any chance of some pictures of the fastback fitted to the car from a few more angles?

I didn't take any pics on Sunday, but plenty of others did. Will see if I can find them.

This is the only pic I found so far. But doesn't show the fastback well.

You guys are funny. Lol.

So today was the last track day of the year for me. At the amazing Phillip Island race track.

Practice went well with a best of 1:47-1:48. The racechrono was suggesting very fast times to be had with a full lap with no traffic.
But the best I managed was a 1:47.1 before being asked to leave for driving too fast on the parade lap. The track would have been a second faster in the arvo once the sun wasn't so harsh. Will have to wait till next time to do a 1:45 I suppose. It will do it.
The car needs more rear grip. Via a wing, or better tyres or both. Last time there when I did 2 hot laps the car gripped well with the wing on. I could hold it flat in many corners like the last two. This time it was half throttle, and a very twitchy/loose rear end.
Really is amazing how well the wing works. I do regret not bringing it.
The new brakes didn't fare so well either. Very disappointing.
But all in all, pretty happy. Ended up 3rd in class, and 3rd outright.

Epic effort amongst some strong competition.
