Hi Guys, I want to install Flares. I understand that I need to cut the fenders, but my question is, If i cut the fenders does that ruin the rigidity and strength of my mx5? I wont be cutting them by much. But just to be able to fit 40mm flares. Just asking as someone has said that to me and its just that I have never heard of such a thing.
Everything else i have already researched and have knowledge of. Just want to make sure. If you can give me the thumbs up that will be great. Cheers guys

Just make sure once they're cut out that you have someone weld the inner and outer skins back together.
Both to retain some strength, and more so to stop the inside of the guard filling with sh*t and rusting out.

No problem.
Should probably add that after it's welded make sure to paint any bare metal showing, again, to slow rust.
Personally i'd give the area a coat of underseal like POR15 or Wurth SKS.
