Postby fruitless » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:16 pm

is it normal for the fender bolt on the bottom of the front fenders to be painted over? any tips on the cleanest way to remove the paint?

Yes and no.

really depends how careful whoever painted the car was, with NAs being 25 years old now you;ll find most have had at least a few bits touched up over the years.

Simplest way to remove paint on a bolt head is to just give it a going over with a wire brush. Should take 30 seconds max.

If you have a lot of bolts to do it's sometimes easier to just put them in a jar with some paint stripper rather than sitting at the bench grinder doing each one by hand.
