Delrin is a pretty slippery plastic, and is mostly used for bearing surfaces. Wear will be minimal compared to anything else you could put there. Filing with teeth is a bit different to rubbing with smooth steel. I imagine it will be good for years.

Mine were put in last night, when for a drive and very impressed. I always thought it was the open softtop bouncing/rattling but with these in, nothing. Hardly a rattle anywhere over rough surfaces and bumps!

The passenger side does make a loud pop sound when you open it though. Does that mean it just needs a bit more work aligning it?
(Kinda reminds me of when my knee use to pop out. not a pleasant sound!)

Mine "pops" too.
Don't sweat it.

Fitted a set of these recently... on a 150,000 km car and work a treat. You can tell the difference in both the solid nature of the doors shutting which need a hefty chunk (and thank heck I fitted additional interior lights on the lower centre console otherwise it would be easy to walk away without the doors shutting properly. There are less rattles and it's stiffer through and over bumpy sections of the road. It just adds taughtness. Well worth a go...

Fitted these today. Wow, it certainly is quieter in the car and does seem 'tighter' but I will know when I take it for a decent run without the hard top. Thanks to Mr Pham.

Cheers,

Got a set in John's last batch and it actually makes a noticeable difference in NVH.
