Automotive Plus Coolant Reroute Spacer Thickness

Can someone with the Automotive plus/MX5Plus Reroute spacer measure the thickness please.

Need to know as I'm looking at the possibility of re-purposing one on the front of the engine as a "sensor adaptor" but need to see if I'll have enough clearance with the radiator hose and fan shroud/bracket as it'll push the outlet housing further forward. Need to know by how much.

Thats going to make the hose outlet quite tight to the fan shroud I think. I imagine rubber hose rubbing on a plastic edge wont last long.
Was a nice thought though...

If you converted to the Kia housing, the angle of the outlet might push the hose backward and could clear the cowling...?

Don't have a need for a reroute (yet) figured if I can use the spacer as a sensor adaptor, I get pre thermostat temps and if I do go a reroute in the future, I already have one part of the kit.

Dann, do you keep any of these parts for you reroute option? Spacer and Kia thermostat cover?

Devastated

The spacer with the Kia thermostat housing is perfect alignment, clears the fans and won't kink the hose......except the bolt holes make it point straight up :evil:

Anyone know of a housing exactly like the Kia one but with flipped bolt hole orientation?

I believe it is from a US only delivered Kia Sephia.
NitroDann can get them.

I've been googling and came across the outlet from a 94 Falcon 4L. Right orientation for the front of the engine and looks pretty close in size.

Supercheap sell them too. Struggling to find info though on the bolt hole spacing and the thermostat hole size.
Looks like I'm going to have to try to find the time to compare the Ford housing with a mazda gasket at Supercheap to see if the bolt holes line up and if there will be enough meat in the middle to hold the mazda thermostat in place.

Found a pin hole leak in my top hose too so will need to get this sorted very soon.

I would consider a 323/laser thermostat housing. 90-98.

I think I used a laser housing on my car, however the output isn't 32mm it's 26mm I think. So just double check the size of the housing output otherwise you'll have issues fitting the hose. I had a bit of tube welded to the outside so that the coolant hose would fit on. The orientation would be correct though.

You can get inline sensor fittings for the coolant temp. They are cheap on ebay.
