Jessegroves ...

The list is endless ... just some that I did ...

Have you advanced the timing yet? Simple, no cost adjustment that makes a nice improvement ... http://www.miata.net/garage/ignition.html
Roll bar. Brown Davis or Automotive Plus. I had the BD bar in mine and this alone made a massive difference.
Underbody bracing - I only got around to fitting a Thompson brace, but there's heaps of information about the frame rail braces with the butterfly brace and it's effectiveness.
NB8B seats make a difference in comfort.
NB8B windbreak - don't know how you feel about the buffeting, but the factory windbreaks do make a difference. Straight bolt in.

Uh, Oh! Sounds like you've got the bug! Fifteen years on and my NA has over 60 mods and still counting. Currently building window toggle switches into my home made centre console to make windows operate quicker.
I originally was only going to do mods that could be easily removed but these cars are usually keepers so just do what you fancy.
Suspension mods are where you should spend the money first as the fun is in the drive. Even just a decent sway bar makes a difference.
I run a stock NA8 also but soon get bored of it as it just doesnt have that go kart handling.
NB SE, NA 1.8.

Full fuel tank and the mobile phone delete mod.

The phone delete is my favourite mod so far, it lets you drive unbothered for hours!

Agree with the full tank of fuel, make sure it is E85 for that sweet smell. Agree with the mobile phone delete, actually take the radio out and listen to the sounds all around you. Remove the carpet as well as you can hear the fuel pump, all the little pebbles hitting the underbody of the car and every single noise the engine makes. While you are in this mood remove the air con, I quote from somebody else here "So in summer you can stew in your own juices".

Trader I don't think I have 60 mods yet on my NA.

StanTheMan found the limitations of a Torsen diff again yesterday turning into a driveway. With a torsen if a wheel has no resistance it acts like an open diff :(

My personal recommended mods:
1. Alignment (that suits your driving style)
2. OEM Rear sway
3. Sticky tyres (at the correct temp/pressures)
4. Driver training (professional coaching if on the track or advanced driver training if on the road)
5. Whilst not for the OP, if you have a BP CAS sensor cable tie if it to the plug.

My personal list of mods NOT to do:
1. Strut braces.
2. Roof vent if the car is a daily drive.
