Re: QLD Club: Track Day Schedule

Postby JBT » Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:26 pm

The MX-5 Club is cherry picking two motorkhanas and two hill climbs to fit in between the sprint dates for point scores in the club motor sport championship. People are welcome to do as many as they like, but only the ones listed on the motor sport program for 2013 will be counted for points. So, expect another motorkhana and hill climb to be added once the HSCCQ and MGCCQ calendars are up to date.

All of those dates work out of the box except two, and I can wrangle those. All I need now is a car...

Eh, couple of weeks...

Looks like starting at Lakeside's shaken the order up a bit.

QR's a great place for those starting out since there's plenty of room to fall off (especially on turns 1 and 2), and, since it's flat for working on the technical aspects of your technique. Hard on tyres and brakes, though.

Lakeside is pretty daunting for those starting out. I've had five sessions for a total of 90 or so laps there now and it was only in the last outing there in the October mid-week sprints I felt I was starting to get a bit of a handle on the place. It is massively rewarding to start to feel fast there though, and I must admit I'm starting to fall a little bit in love with Lakeside.

Hello everyone.
Welcome to 2016, and what can be a very busy MX5 driving year, if you choose.

This year, the following events are proposed.

Monday 8th February, Lakeside. FULL DAY.
Saturday 19th March, Morgan Park. FULL DAY (SDT training is the following day)
Monday 18th April, Queensland Raceway. Afternoon session.
Monday 6th June, Lakeside
Saturday 9th July, Morgan Park. Full Day (PROPOSED)
18th July, Queensland Raceway. Half day (UNDER REVIEW)
12th September, Lakeside. Half Day
14th November, Lakeside. Half Day

Those of you who do Morgan Park will need CAMS L2S licences. This also enables you to participate in the Interclub Championship including Observation Runs, Hill Climbs, Motorkhana, Khanacross and other speed events at a variety of venues around Brisbane. More about that later.

Any questions please contact me directly. I am almost back on line after an extended break, but get back to you asap.
