Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Hey Mark.
If you're having problems with the CAS at the front of the valve cover, I found that zip tieing the connector to the sensor fixed my problems.
Used to have issues with it all the time, replaced with a brand new one too.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Thanks to everybody who said hello today, great to put faces to names.
WTAC 2016 YES I'll be back, I was not the slowest so I'm wrapped. Driver training for 2016!
Mat from Haltech came down and discussed the CAS sensor and he has given a possible solution!
The guys from the Aero fittings trailer came up with a nifty intake for the ITB's, stay tuned!
Had a good chat to the MCA people about shocks in 2016. I need to pass on my data so they can make some informed decisions on spring rates etc.
The car suffered post track overheating due to a dodgy fan relay, so need to get this sorted.
Wheel alignment was probably not the optimum so need to get this sorted, ran out of time to get it done as per requirements.
Only down side was being low down on the pecking order our total laps were reduced, last session only 1 full lap
I think in 2015 I'll close this thread and start a new one since this is almost over. What a fabulous journey and great people met along the way!

Yeah something's up with that CAS sensor stuff. Either bad wiring or ECU cause I can't believe that the stock sensor is that unreliable.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
To be honest I have a feeling that it is more an issue between the Haltech and the sensor than an unreliable OEM sensor. However the question is why is it just impacting my build, it is not as if this is the first time it has been done. The Haltech tech agreed with everything that has been done to date in eliminating potential issues, it has him stumped as well.
Anyway after getting home today started working on the suggested solution. Also noticed the dump pip I hit on the track put a nice ding in the splitter front edge! It would also appear that the splitter worked really well as I now have to make a much better front air dam between the splitter and the GV lip...
Getting off topic in my own thread...
Possible solution (as suggested by Haltech).
1. Get some revenge on a CAS sensor (after driving 12 hours this felt good)

2. Ever wondered what was inside a CAS sensor?

3. A much smaller CAS, it will never be the same again...

3. Drill hole in now destroyed CAS sensor to accept the Haltech part no. HT010610 http://www.haltech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Haltech-Single-Channel-Hall-Effect-Sensor-HT010610.pdf

Plan is to tap the CAS mount with a 12mm x 1 tap, however I did not have one at home, so tomorrow's job. Car will be off to plus for a post track service and inspection so I will get them to install the Hatlech hall effect sensor. This may work or it may not, it is a process of elimination. Interestingly the Haltech PS1000 defaults to using a pull up resistor on the trigger/home I wonder if this was disabled if the miss would still happen?
Will test it out at Morgan Park I guess.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Pity we didn't get to meet up Mark. I was wandering around the pits looking out for your car (I only had about an hour...what a way to spend $50!) and only found out from Mitch that you were up the back after I left!
Good effort anyway, and will be good to see you compete next year!

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Nothing to be sorry about!
Whilst I was looking out for your car, I did go there to wish the JDMYard and BYP guys good luck - both their cars were in the lead at that time, and as we all know, ended up winning their respective classes.

I agree G, particularly as I believe mark has now rewired the sensor, ignition and injector looms with shielded cables.
