Re: Dodgy Day Round 5. 10th October, Purga.
Hi chaps,
I'm pretty new to the club and mx-5s in general and hope to come along tomorrow.
I've a '04 SE with some mods that needs a helicoil job on an exhaust stud. Previous owner had stripped it and done the dodgy ( ) and not fixed it.
If anyone has the gear for this that would be awesome, I think it is an M10 x 1.25 thread.
I also have a new set of HEL braided brake lines and 'straight shot' clutch line to install if there is time.
Cheers
Justin

TOMORROW
I have a set of helicoils somewhere, but unsure of pitch, and I'm not confident that the metal can withstand that much heat.

Re: Dodgy Day Round 5. 10th October, Purga.
Being the cheap/tight variety of Dodgy I've managed to not have my roll bar ready as intended by trying to save a few bucks on the powder coating
So the little things I've been putting off that need attending to are:
Third brake light (on boot lid) doesn't work - bulb/wiring/fuse?
Loose belt screaming on start up needs tightening. I've got no idea where to start with this.
I want/need to bypass the seat belt alarm (fuse?)
Drivers side headlight wobbles and needs investigation.
Drivers side screen washer doesn't work. Replace tube?
Super dodgy faux-chrome strip on passenger door needs removing, preferably with minimal paint loss
Looking for tips on cleaning drain holes. Where, what, how?
Need to find out what I need to be carrying in the way of tools.
General chat about track day preparations. Anything to set up on the RaceChrono app? I've added all the local tracks as well as Bathurst; hoping for a miracle there
Does Morgan Park have to be loaded three times for the different lap configurations?
Looking to have a sticky beak at other peoples fire extinguisher mounts. I'll get something made up at work next week.
Keen to help out wherever I can with anyone else's car and try and learn as much as possible.
See you all in the morning

Shell is out of the shed, TV tuned for Bathurst and ready for Dodgy Day.
MXO005 normally all you need to do is load the start finish line. Morgan Park will do around 3 configurations, it has 11 possible configurations:
1. Hill climb test (does not use start/finish line)
2. Warm up possibly on 'B' layout
3. What have you learnt on 'E' layout

On another note, I have a U-Beaut brush for soft top drain cleaning, which I'll bring.
Also I'm sorry, but I haven't got the meat balls done as promised. Simply ran out of time. ops

Day over and all cars/people left under their own power.
Heaps of jobs done for the day, good food and good company. Hopefully somebody will post some photos and tbro can walk again.
Doing car jobs whilst watching Bathurst, what more could you be doing?

Sounds good. Need to do one in Melbourne. I'd like to host but I don't have enough level ground, or covered space.

Thanks again for hosting a great event, Mark. The drive home took me through many roundabouts and the Eibach springs are fantastic on the Civic. I only have one pic that's worth sharing...
