Been a while since I've been on here it seems and my threads are all old etc etc so thought i would make some time and post up the new rally car.
So after racing the old na "the turtle" for a while from night rallies to the aust tarmac rally chamionship i decided it was time for a step up for something newer.
The turtle was to be retired and used for another purpose but i will elude to that in another thread some time soon....
So mid 2015 after much debate of whether to build a new car or buy a used racer a decision was finally made on afternoon whilst pawing through my facebook feed. There it was a fully prepped multiple race winning nc for sale by chris from targa racing aus. Well a deal was struck up almost instantly once the phone call was made.
Later that week after a quick inspection i went to pick up the big girl.
As soon as we got home the car got cleaned up from top to bottom. preparations began to remove signage and fit my own personal items inc seats , harnesses , coms systems , steering wheel and a few other goodies which well are for me to know only ;) .
Edit: keen to get along to a few mx5 events and possibly even join a club eeek! Not my thing so much nowadays but i am very easily persuaded haha.

Re: NC tarmac racer.
So after a clean up and organising some testing to get settled into the car i scored another couple of sets of nc wheels from a fellow cartalk member which went straight to the tire shop for some fresh toyo r888 tires.
Picked the car up from killer image after removing the previous signage. I love how unassuming it looks with no stickers.
Dropped back to a 330mm steering wheel as the 350mm in the car sat just in my eyeline.
So thats where we are up to at present and am currently preparing for the upcoming great tarmac rally on november 14th -15th in victoria. Will hopefully have a few more inside photos of the car when its all setup how i like it.
Thanks for reading guys .

Looking forward to seeing your updates. Also keen to spectate at the Great Tarmac Rally. I wonder if any other members on here are keen to convoy up.

Yes the rally is pretty well organised and if your interested your more than welcone to organise some cars the organisers alwaysake sure spectators get an awesome spot. Will be testing this Friday at wakefield park before we head down to vic. Feel free to come and say hi in the pits too.

Re: NC tarmac racer.
Went out to scrub in the fresh tires and brakes today at wakefield park. Weather was absolutely sublime! It was my first time driving the nc in anger amd belted out a 1.09 within my first three sessions in the car. Felt so comforable once in the car although i did adjust the dampening slightly due to the rear getting a little loose.
Anyway heres what went down got mt new gear in and tested the coms systems. All is working well currently and will give the car a full service before we head off to the first event in the nc

Re: NC tarmac racer.
Great to see you're having a fun time with it Luke!!
Awesome to see you down in the 1.09's after just a couple of runs. It was set up for Tarmac rallying so with a few tweaks for circuit use it will be even better.
Look forward to hearing about your adventures in the rally!!
Chris.
