Thanks G! Could de wing the car and find out at QR one day just for curiosity. I was dewinged once before but did not change the straight line speed and it did feel a bit witchy in the high speed corners.

Not much chance of find more seconds in 2015, will find them in 2016!

Car is back at Plus getting a once over and tune tweak for WTAC so no more time to play with it :(

4. Replace the current headlight setup.
5. Alignment.
6. Pre track service/inspection.
7. Relocate coolant overflow (issue found after item 4).

Had a look at one of Gools videos of the Clubman

My issue is that I’m washing off too much speed before the corner and accelerating to the apex whereas Gools is turning in and maintain speed to the apex. However I'm happy with my apex speeds but need to work on the brake into the corner and not need to accelerate to the apex. If I can get this right there is a lot of time to make up at 2 and 6.

You've got time to gain at t1 too. Same vmin as me but with the advantage of aero and less weight. Same principle, brake less and use the turnin to wash the last few kmh off before the apex, then power out.

Yep your Clubman time is next on my bucket list :) Then 1:04.60 followed by a 1:03 all in 2016 for QR Clubman as well as adding Mt Cotton hill climb times and possibly beating my previous PB at Lakeside.

My previous PB was a 1:08.8768 on 17/02/2014 previous to that it was a 1:11.7167 on 18/03/2013. These times should not be too hard to beat....

You're only 8 hundredths off my clubman time, that'll fall next time you go out. The other times should be pretty cruisey to catch, although it's been a while so you might have to work up to them. Lakeside can be daunting to get time down on.

I don't normally run at Lakeside, it is more a confidence thing than anything else. The car has never been run at Lakeside in its current form. In 2014 it was just after the engine was in and it was a shakedown cruise.

The car has lost over 50kg including driver since 2013. The WTAC class weight is 940kg for a NA6. It would be interesting to see what it weights without the hardtop and roll bar and no fluids. Notwithstanding it was a pain to corner balance today, decided to not change springs/roll bar until after WTAC.

Splitter V4 is not road legal, it is deceptive but it does stick out 40mm more, did not go the full 50mm, it actually looks legal...

I used the same material as V3 so it will only be a little bit heavier. Essentially I traced the existing one, drew a line 40mm parallel to the back and moved the splitter down and traced the new bits.

This would have to be my most used cutting tool.

All cut out

Time to bend the edging, same template as V3.

Next step was the other half of the edge

Test fitted on the new splitter

Also removed some more previous 'additional' wiring.

7 days before leaving for WTAC.

Between now and October 13 the following will be done;
1. New splitter that extends 50mm beyond the front.
2. Fit 10 kg front springs and OEM front sway bar (and corner weight).
3. Fit Winmax 6.5's to the front.

Red - to be done
Green - done
Orange - in progress
Blue - Not happening before WTAC

Left the MX5 in peace yesterday (apart from a trip on the trailer), detailed the Amarok instead.

The splitter (V4) has about 95mm of clearance at the front and more importantly no clash when loading on the trailer. This photo was taken with the front wheels just on the trailer and the trailer at full tilt, it is close.
