Re: The start of a street registered track warrior
Fitted up the fuel rail, got the rest of the small things sorted, filled up all the fluids.
Ran it without fuel/spark for a little bit to get the oil through the lines, then plugged everything in and started first go after a few seconds, HELL YEAH!!!.
Found a few noob mistakes, had the return/feed fuel lines mixed up when we tested the fuel pressure, also a small fuel leak at the aftermarket fuel gauge sender.
Got those mistakes sorted, then set the fixed timing and away we went for a drive around the local streets.
Forgot to take a first start video, but it isnt that important to me.
I took a few pics, but my phone is terribad at taking good quality ones so here they are:

Let me know if this link doesnt work.
Next step is to get the VVTuner all wired in, get the new (used) GT2560 and the new manifold made up from Dann, run it in for a while then off to the dyno.
Hopefully this will all happen before my next hillclimb meeting at Kempsey mid march.

Re: The start of a street registered track warrior
Bit lazy on the updating, but got the engine ran in and dyno tuned by Dann the man and made just under 280RWHP, and had to dial back the torque to ~230ft-lbs, so i dont go break the 5 speed to quickly.
Kempsey hillclimb went well, not many turned up, only 35 i think, but i got 7th outright and first in class.
Racing it up the hill i really noticed how under-sprung the front and rear are, especially braking really hard, the car really dives and make the rear too light.
Time for a suspension upgrade!
After quite a few emails talking to Josh at MCA suspension, i ordered some MCA Blues, and installed them 2 days ago.
I can feel a big difference in how it feels, even just driving it normally on the road. I can feel the road a bit more due to the heavier springs, but larger bumps and potholes are absorbed alot better than the old suspension.
The car is pretty well sorted in all performance aspects, so now i can just drive it and not have to worry too much about further upgrades.

All geared up and ready to run the last King Edward Park Mattara hillclimb tomorrow.
Hopefully get another class win, and see if i can beat the class record, which hasn't moved for 10 years.

Looking good. Keen to hear how you went in this heat.
NA6 turbo - 140kw atw - not the most powerful but so much fun

Re: The start of a street registered track warrior
Did well, came 15th overall and another 1st in class.
Was a very hot day, though engine temps were fine, with the coolant reroute and thick alloy radiator.
Was great to do the last King Edward Park ever, hopefully some of the local racetrack plans come to fruition.
I need wider tyres, maybe 225 A050s or wider slicks, and will get some aero done for next year, though it will put me in the next class.

Well done Kendall, looks like a fun track , what was your best run and did they give you a theoretical best time based on your splits? What speed or rpm/gear did you hit before the punch?

Well done on the 1st in Class! Car looks great too
Such a shame there will no longer be a Hill Climb in King Edward Park. So unique.

Re: The start of a street registered track warrior
Best time was 42.33, and i dont think the theoretical was any faster.
Was most of the way through 3rd gear before getting into the pinch, i would say about 120km/h or so.
Back in 2012 i was running a S1 Rx7 track car with a 13BT making a bit more power, and got 42.20.
I'm sure if i had a proper LSD i could get out of the pinch at least 0.5-1 second quicker, so much inside wheel spin before getting traction due to the TorSen.

Ken coming back from the class winning run, and Martin's AW11 Turbo (NitroDann Edition ) in the background who also has had a great year with a class win too.

Re: The start of a street registered track warrior
Time to update.
I bought some Alucobond paneling about 6 months ago, and have just started on some underbody aero.
Recently regreased the rear poly bushes, and installed some front adjustable upper arms, which should give me more than the 2* neg camber i have now.
Also bought some 1000cc/min injectors, and will soon look for a 6sp g/box to shoot for 300+whp.
I bought some Federal 595RSR tyres, and had them fitted to my current 15x7 track wheels.
Am also planning to buy some 15x9 wheels for track, and use up the 205 NT01s before buying some new 225/45 Hankook Z214.
Spent the last 2 days making a front spoiler, and will make up the rest of the underbody over the next few weeks.

Yeah, got them a while ago.
Great set of wheels, lightweight, well priced, look good, and haven't broken yet, so i'm happy.
