DON'T DO IT!
I was very down when I had to redo the head, not to mention my years budget which was meant for driver training was spent. I have underestimated the cost of maintaining the car since it has been 'finished'. Brakes, discs, pads, air box, servicing, small parts failing, oil testing, then throw in track time, fuel, towing, tyres etc it all gets a bit much. However it still makes me smile when I drive it.
Tomorrow, replace discs, bed in, do some coast down tests and start the sensor rewiring project, YAHE!
Don't give up.

I use Trent for the tune of my car. Did he discover something bad (he is pretty darn cluey)?

Car didn't reach Trent yet. Nick at Lux Racing was sorting what should have been minor issues before taking the car to Trent. Nick discovered the major issue. The booking for the tune is cancelled for the moment.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

3 more months without the car. Finally looks as if progress is being made though and it might be back in a few days.
The plots below are on 98 octane and a running-in tune (because of a refreshed forged bottom end). The fuel system and ECU are capable of handling more fuel and timing etc when it's tuned on E85.
Not dríven the car yet. Will give appropriate credit to engine (re)builder, expert spannerman and tuner when it all checks out.
Comments appreciated especially from turbo experts (you know who I mean!), especially on what difference E85 will make.

E85 will give more power for sure. But you need much larger injectors. It helps keep the engine cooler. I was going to do it when I did mine, but the injectors I just put in are too small. And couldn't be bothered swapping them again.
If you can get the car to drive nicely and reliably at 150rwkw's, I say leave it and enjoy.

It has ID1000s, bigger fuel pump, rising rate thingo etc etc.
From all accounts Trent has done a great job so far in getting it that linear with the ID1000s.
Might as well make full use of them.

1000's will do the job. I have RX8 inj. About 550 or something. Tuner wanted 600 or 650 (I think) min.

Rx8 injectors are 420 or 440.
550 is FC rx7 turbo. ;)
NA6 turbo - 140kw atw - not the most powerful but so much fun

Dave my white car runs perfect on E85 and you will definitely notice the 10-15rwkw increase in power.
What you won't like is getting 200km from a tank.
At only 150rwkw you will probably get a lot more than that but with the potential to nudge 200rwkw on E85 I can guarantee you will be turning it up before Chrissy
In saying all that though, my engine is in 400 pieces and there are parts of the engine all over the state.

A good tune should net about 350km/tank dríven sensibly.

1000cc's are good for ~500hp

I agree 100%. 350km/tank is possible if dríven sensibly. I have even tried to do "Miss Daisy econo runs"
The simple fact is its impossible to drive a 200kw MX-5 for a whole tank and not hit the loud pedal……you just can't do it. Its like going agaist all the laws of nature

Yup, 1000s will cover any future turbo and E85.
The flex sensor will allow swapping between any mixture of 98 and E85 thus between proper power and normal fuel consumption.
