Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
So Steer, It'd be $44,300 with everything so i paid $1,000- for paint protection & leather. They are going to chuck in scuff plates if they get them in time for when the car arrives. Which state did you purchase from? I'm in Far North Qld.
That's not good at all from the dealer, I'd be taking the money else where if they haven't ordered it from May as you'd think you'd be pushed down the list of they'd order it today...Hopefully they can give you an ETA?
Good luck mate
Cheers

Salespeople leaving is no excuse for how you've been mistreated by that dealer.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

I'm in Qld too (Brisbane). I'm paying $45,400 For the same car with the same extras, plus the strut bar ($1100), but minus the paint and leather, so by my reckoning, you are getting the paint and leather for free, compared to my offer.

Wondering if my May order/deposit is lower down the list than then "many" orders placed in August/September.
You need to have a chat with the dealer principal about this. You want a massive discount* or you're going to want your deposit back and go to another dealership. This is a good bluff, actually, as your car was only ordered this week and not in May, so you've got nothing to lose by following through.
*Money off and/or free accessories, or free servicing up to 30,000kms, etc. All very achievable for a dealership to offer.

I have seen a dealer in Rochdale, NSW selling the base model for $35,788 driveaway, I think it's a demo.

That's correct, some dealers will chuck in free soul red paint. It's only $200 extra but still.

Just thought this was worth repeating. Nice though the 10th Anniversary model was, just think about what extra you get now, and for less money.

I asked for a discount when they finally started talking to me. They threw in the floor mats for free. I went and ordered mine from another dealer (even got a few hundred bucks off compared to the original dealer). December delivery. Went back to reclaim my deposit from the first dealer and the dealer principal got all cranky at me for taking my order elsewhere. Said that I would get my $500 back "straight away", but no sign yet 9 days later. My emails to the dealership are still going into the black hole- no replies, emailed or telephone. Might have to start a discussion with Mazda Australia to get my money back.
They are my closest dealer so I would usually get my new MX serviced there, but not sure about the quality of the customer service that I will receive there. Somehow got the feeling that I wasn't welcome there anymore. Not sure why.

Just give them a call each day to find out if it's been put through. Not good at all...
At least you have another one on order now. Same config? What deal did you get? Any free mats again?

Re: How much did you pay for your ND MX5?
Steerpike e mails may be useful and you need to keep a record of them but the best thing is to go along and speak to the Sales manager face to face and take someone with you. If you have placed another order elsewhere perhaps you don't take your business back to a dealer that does not seem to be doing a good job. If you don't get an acceptable result with the dealer then take it up with Head office.
