Sequential motorbike gearboxes are a lot different in this respect to car gearboxes though.

Upshifts on a bike can be done just by putting slight pressure on the gear lever and as soon as you take the load off it will slip into the next gear.
Do this with a car box and it mostly just slips into neutral, ie into wont easily go into the gear you are aiming for

I'll stick with the clutch at the moment. When I am chasing 1/100 secs I may change or find another high hourly rate job in WA and buy a dog box.

Getting the car ready for Cootha/WTAC is the priority as well as track time for driver. Once over of the 'motorbike' now at home suggests it will need a bit more work than told about.

Cootha Classic ticked off the bucket list for 2015, only 1 item left to get ticked off.

ImageCootha Classic

IQ3 logging dash has been installed (not fully configured) and the Innovate stuff all removed from the car. The EGT's have been moved on to a Haltech EGT CAN device and 2 x brake pressures and fuel pressure have been moved on to the IO expander. Not all the sensors have been connected (ride heights and 2 air temps), need a few Racepak USM's but these are nice to haves so not important. The logging dash has a lot more options to configure and another software package to learn. Plan is to do another thread on the dash covering the nuances I have found as well as getting the fuel to be displayed from a software perspective as it is not just plug and play. I thought I could just swap the dashes, duplicate the settings and it would work, silly me :(

Progress is being made on removing all the excess wiring, it is a slow job but it is progressing.

Between now and October 13 the following will be done;
1. New splitter that extends 50mm beyond the front (it will be removed as required).
2. Fit 10 kg front springs and OEM front sway bar (and corner weight).
3. Fit Winmax 6.5's to the front.
4. Replace the current headlight setup (Dodgy Day reveal).
5. Alignment.

Plan is to have all this done before Dodgy Day on 10/10, possibly even clayed and polished so I can just relax on the day.

ZX6R needs to be put back together before Dodgy Day as it is spread out in the house garage, don't believe family when they say all it needs are a few parts (fuel cap, right handle bar and front nose cone) as they have LIED! Anyway this will become my daily ride to and from the train station, yep stopping fly in fly out for a while.

There is a possibility that I could have a spare pit crew pass for WTAC. If somebody wants to help me out in the pits (tyre temps/pressures) the ticket could be yours...

Provsional race schedule is here http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/racing-schedule/

This is one way of seeing who reads my thread :)

Managed a 1:05.2932 today, whilst it is a PB the car is still capable of faster times. I'm not driving the car on its limit yet as it, no fighting to keep control and the car is not displaying any real over/under steer. Need to push harder. So much fun and non forced induction!

Turn 2 needs to be pushed next, there is more time to be had there.

The Winmax 6.5's seemed to have solved the issue with the rear locking up before the fronts, did not happen today. The pads have a lot more bite in the first instance and on a few occasions I wiped off too much speed to early. After reset brake points the pads more than held their own. Very happy with them, however they do produce a bit of dust...

Ran the AD08's and again these tyres keep surprising me, will be interesting to see what I can get out of my R specs when the change arrives. Will try and do a comparison with AD08's, FZ201's and DZ01's.

Nice. You should find another 2-3 seconds as my car does 62 around the Sprint circuit and I'm sure that engine of yours is a fair better than my garage shed built and street tune - unless the aero is slowing you down more than it is making you fast in the corners?

Anyway, you're doing some good times. Looking forward to seeing you out there again so we can compare runs and laps....
