I've been meaning to do a write up on this since the day! Started one once, and then accidently lost it on Tapatalk. OK, here we go, better late than never.

Well it was a great morning out! Considering there were a few other car events on that day, including the Cootha Classic, there was a good turn out of cars, and a good variety between them. And half the Porsches in Brisbane :P

I met up with Andrew, Pete & Lilly, Greg and Justin (... I feel like I'm forgetting someone), we grabbed a coffee and wandered the cars. There were a few other MX-5s scattered about as well one with a forum sticker (who were you!?)

There was a beautiful Porsche 356 Speedster, that I wanted to drive home in. It'd be an even swap, one silver 4cyl roadster for another ... forget about the over $100k price disparity!

There was a red RX-7 there, with ORX plates, thought it might have been Danny from Auto+ but it wasn't him driving. I assume it was his car though.

I'm looking forward to going again, but next time I will grab a coffee elsewhere first. There is only one place to get coffee, it's good but they're very busy and the wait is a long one.

The next meet will be Saturday 3/10. I can't commit to attending just yet, but I will certainly try to be there. Here's a few photos to entice you. slug_dub took a ton, so he might post a few choice picks later?

That Series 5 RX-7 is not mine, but it is owned by my friend Peter. It's a tidy Aussie delivered version. I would have been there if I wasn't still in Sydney. I hope to make it to the next one.

Cheers,
Danny

Cool. You can spot it in the background of the shot of the Speedster. I loved the sticker on the back of the Rotor and the Piston.

Hope to see you at the next one Danny, and/or meet you at the Open Day later this month.

Is "ORX" a rotary referrence?

It might just be using 0 for nothing. And then RX as a model designator like mx.

I'd almost hazard a guess / dredge memory that Danny may have done a rotor swap into a 626 early in his driving life. Fancy personalised plates may not have been available at that point so getting plates that read ORX-626 would have been quite an achievement.

Some say Danny even has a rotary-powered lawn mower!
