G's Titanium 04' NB SE

Postby thegarts » Fri Aug 14, 2015 3:40 pm

Hi All,

I recently bought this after owning 2 MX5's in the past - a NA, and a supercharged NC.

Have already started buying bits and pieces for some modding so I'll post them as it progresses

Already have:
15x7 wheels/tyres (installed - that cute 4WD look  )
BD roll bar (installed)
Turbosmart Kompact BOV (previous owner installed)
Intake from MX5 Factory (previous owner installed)
440cc injectors
FMIC
Mazdaspeed drivers seat (on way from JP)

Procuring:
Coilovers (HSD on the way soon from WA seller on here :D )
ECU (have something lined up)
Yellowstuff pads / new rotors
New intake (have a BEGI lined up)
Dump pipe (have something lined up)
Eboost 2 (have lined up)

And of course some tuning - TBD.

Here she is in stock form:

Thanks 8)

Two new titanium SE threads on the same day!

Sounds fun - interesting to hear your thoughts between the 3 when you are used to this one.... 3 very different approaches to MX5s.

"Bestest" colour for an NB but you should re-think the EBC Yellowstuff pads for the street, they're meant for trackwork so wont be great for stopping when cold and will chew up your rotors.
EBC Redstuff are better suited for the SE for DD and can be used for occasional trackwork.

Thanks Lokiel :-)

Yeah, really love this colour... big fan of the velocity red too though.

Yeah! Another Ti SE!

How are you finding the 440cc injectors with the factory ECU, I thought the factory unit couldn't handle anything bigger than ~320cc.....

Need some more pics too!
What wheels do you have?

Injectors not installed yet - will put them in when the ECU is sorted/before tune.

I'll post some pics soon :D

An update -

HSD coilovers fitted today! After some playing around, found a perfect balance of ride height, handling and comfort.
I didn't expect such comfort I must say; these are fantastic

Needs a proper clean!

Next up, hopefully will have a Haltech wired up this weekend with a 'base tune' until the other goodies are installed :D

I reckon the orange suits some cars, others not so much. And I like that we don't all do the exact same changes, gives each car it's own look and personality.

Man, something must be up with either my shocks or my installation, because I seem to be the only one disapointed by the HSDs. Fronts are fine, but the rears are very crashy and clunky. Might throw it up on stands this weekend to see if I can find anything I've missed.

Hmm interesting - I'm really impressed by them. Am yet to have a wheel alignment but so far so good.
TBH, it also highlights how good the factory Bilstein's were... They were great but I just wanted a little lower and some more adjustability.
