Last week I picked up a 1992 red NA6. Australian delivered with only 130,000km on the clock.
It's not perfect (front bumper and rear plate garnish could do with a cut back and polish for example). It has a couple of pre-existing mods;
BC BR Coilovers
Cowl/Randall style intake
NB brakes
Cams approved rollbar
Port and polish (at least that's what the previous owner told me, I haven't seen a receipt, but the valve cover has been spruced up, so it's been off at some stage recently)
4-2-1 headers and high flow cat
Some sort of aftermarket leads
I have already started fiddling with it. Removed the vented headlight cover you can see in the first photo. I also pulled the centre console out on the weekend in preparation for adding omgpham's console delete kit. Will also rebuild the shifter this weekend as it's a bit sloppy and both boots are torn up.
I also tightened up the throttle cable that was very sloppy.
My priority at the moment is finding some nicer wheels for it.
(don't tell my girlfriend I put this photo on here)

Glad to hear you found one!
What's the go with the ND? Already got a friend for it?

I'm afraid not
The ND belongs to the previous owner, he replaced the NA with it.

Looks good. Is that a mazdaspeed roll bar? Is hard to tell from the pic
NA6 turbo - 140kw atw - not the most powerful but so much fun

To be honest, I have no idea what type of roll bar it is and would be curious to find out myself. It has no branding on it (though there might be something behind the 'Roadster' pad that's along the top rail). All I know is that it has a CAMS serial number on it, if that counts for anything (I have a full CAMS log book from the previous owner of every time it was raced).

If the vertical bars bolt in at the top, then I'd suspect it's a mazdaspeed bar. If you put up a closer pic we would be able to confirm ;)

New wheels went on today. The tyres came with the wheels, but I might run something a little wider later on.

Re: Tails' '92 NA6
Since my last post I have done/added;
- Major service
- 42mm alloy radiator
- New wheels (15x7 +25 Sprint Hart CPs (5.5kg!))
- New tyres
- New brake pads and rotors
- Nopro washer bottle
How it currently sits
Next step is a detail to repair faded paint and new door bushings to cut down some of the rattles and cowl shake.

Re: Tails' '92 NA6
It's been over a year since a bought this car now. It doesn't look like a lot has happened since the wheels went on but I've been chasing some frustrating cold running issues which I can now say have been sorted. I tried just about everything to fix it but in the end it was replacing the AFM with a untouched unit that seemed to have fixed it. In pursuit of fixing these issues I have tested, fixed or replaced;
- Plugs
- Leads
- Coilpack
- Various vacuum hoses
- PCV
- Dashpot
- Fuel filter
- ISCV
- Air valve
In the mean time though it has been my daily drive and I have been enjoying it (it was just a bit frustrating in the mornings, particularly during the winter we just had). I have been driving it on good days;
Driving it on bad days;
and driving it with friends;
Along the way one of the BC BR coilovers failed and they became extremely bouncy, so it was time for an upgrade. So in went some MCA Blues, which have been the single best change I've made to the car since buying it;
I also got to work fixing up the Sprint Hart CPs I bought some time ago;
Before
After (a lot of elbow grease)
Concerned about heat coming off the headers straight onto the intake and had them covered with a header blanket from Thermotec;
And finally, the most recent thing I upgraded was the shifter. I ordered a Miataroadster kit and it has been amazing!
Next I will have the exterior cut back and detailed before summer, hoping to have some of the faded panels back to their former glory! I'll also aim to get the wheel centres painted.

I have since had a stainless 2" header back exhaust made up for it and had it detailed. How it currently sits (image by imagesbyrob at Cars and Coffee Blackwood).
