Question re Cusco Type MZ LSD into SE

Question re Cusco Type MZ LSD into SE
I believe the OS Giken LSD from an AP1 Honda S2000 (p/n HA081-HA) fits straight into the SE.
While I'm assuming the same would be true for a Cusco Type MZ to suit the S2000 (p/n LSD 380 K15), I would like to check whether anyone here has actually fitted one up to an SE without any issues.

Cusco states different part numbers for the 2 cars so maybe no luck with them being interchangable.
NB8C Cusco MZ LSD 177 K15
S2000 Cusco MZ LSD 380 K15
Did you check the site I mentioned? Around $1050 AUD shipped at the moment for a MZ. I beleive the one I am running which I bought second hand is an RS so initial torque is lower and full locking is achieved earlier. We set it to a 1.5 way but it is able to be set as a 2 way.

I can't help in regards to which model fits which. But I have a cusco mz lsd in my car. I love it! I bought the unit 2nd hand from CT (forum member). He much be able to shed some light

SE has different drive shafts compared to the "run of the mill" NBs, so NB8C unit is no good to me.
I know OS Giken LSD from S2000 fits and works in SE (MSM) without any issues; it's what 949 Racing, Goodwin and FM recommend.
I just wanted to check there aren't any specific issues fitting and/or running Cusco's Type MZ S2000 unit as it doesn't seem to be discussed anywhere.

It's my understanding that the OEM Torsen diff centre as supplied to Mazda for the SE and also to Honda for their AP1 S2000 are the same unit (with perhaps some minor differences in preload); but I'd be happy to be corrected if this understanding is incorrect!
Neither OS Giken or Cusco specifically mention the SE (or USDM Mazdaspeed Miata version) in their catalogues; they do however list a diff centre for the S2000. It's well known in the US that the S2000 OS Giken fits into the MSM without any issues, but there's no mention of how the Cusco version works (which I find curious).
Either no one does it because they all use the OSG, or no one does it because there's potentially a problem.
The OSG will cost around $1800 plus fitting, while the Cusco is around $1100 plus fitting. I have no doubt the OSG is the superior unit, however I'm on a really, really tight budget at present, so I'm inclined to go with the Cusco assuming there aren't any latent issues.
Of course I can always slap on a pair a standard NB drive shafts and go with the "normal" NB Cusco unit, but I'd rather rule out the S2000 option first.

Try posting the question over on the Mazdaspeed forums in the US, there's a whole lot of experience over there as the majority of the MSM/SE's built were sold in the US!

Tony. The SE and S2000 factory Torsens are the same unit externally and as the gears sets are interchangeable I would think the LSD and any diff centre would be.
I have a S/hand RS Cusco and a S/hand Kaaz S2000 LSD as well as S2000 torsens as well. The stub axle length of the S2000 is basically the same as the NA/NB8 stub axle with slight difference where the circlip is machined. That would be due to the internal preload mechanisms of the NA/NB8 torsens. The overall height and boundary dimensions of the S2000 Cusco and Kaaz are the same as an NA/NB8 torsen, including offset of the flange the crown wheel bolts on to.
This for a new race car or the old race car with a turbo on it?
