Where is the Fuel tank drain plug (1990 NA)

As per subject heading, I was wondering where the fuel tank drain plug is for a 1990 NA MX5.

I should also ask: Do all MX5 NA tanks have a drain plug? The reason I ask is because I would expect it at the lowest point of the tank but I cannt see one there..

Any help would be appreciated

From memory there's not a drain plug as such, ie a removable plug at/near the lowest point of the tank.

That said how do people drain their fuel?

Disconnect the fuel line off the metal fuel line in the engine bay, connect a longer line and run it to a jerrycan and sit in the car turning the ignition on and off. Doesn't take too long but can drain the battery a bit.

Alternatively you can take out the fuel pump and siphon it directly out of the tank.

edit: the rearmost hardline is the feed line too... not the front one.

You can always disconnect the fuel filter underneath the car. Instead of turning the car on an off you can jumper the fuel pump to run with the ignition on.

This is my change fuel setup, thanks to Jason at MX5 Plus. An AN fitting with a length of hose, jumper the fuel pump and collect in jerry can.
