Hi guys,
Picked up my first MX5 around 6 weeks ago. I'd test dríven a few a couple of years ago, but wound up getting an HSV VXR instead.... A bit of a change in direction!
Found this example with 160k on the clock for under $10k, and thought it was a decent buy.
The car came with Rota BBS copies and BR Racing coilovers when I bought it, and I've since put in a Kenwood double DIN HU + Pioneer Coaxials, Voodoo Magnum gearknob, new radiator + hoses + cooler thermostat (the car was overheating every now and then so figured I should replace the lot). HID kit on the way to replace a blown bulb, looking to get a couple of dings+chips fixed up sometime soon, and trying to find some black 6ULs or something similar over the next few months.
Looking forward to learning a lot more for as long as I own the car!

Sounds like you're a DIYer. If that's true, you're going to LOVE working on the car, not because it's unreliable but because it's quite easy to work on and there's tons of information on the web and parts/modz available.
If you love the Voodoo gearknob, get the handbrake handle too - chunky (after owning one, every other handle feels effeminate).

Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!

Always try to DIY when I can...although a suspension swap is at the cusp of my ability as a mechanic. I've been able to find heaps of info so far which has been extremely pleasing!

Welcome. Reckon you're in QLD judging by the plate? Silver is by far the best colour, but I'd maybe be biased.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Your not biased Dave, silver is regarded as the best color.

Yep.... Especially when it's a bit darker!

Get that "Concrete Grey" outta here! Proper Silver is where it's at!
