Input on a drift build.

Hey everyone!
I am in the process of purchasing a 1990 Miata for my drift build this winter and I was wondering if anyone had any input on it

PM via the forum is probably best.

For drifting (although I havent done it) generally you want to have an LSD and fairly stiff suspension.
And ideally, some power so it's easy to break traction and slide.

Have you done any drifting or similar before?
If not I'd suggest it's best to do some first, skidpan days etc, to get a feel for the car as it is. Once you've got some practice with a basic car you will be more able to understand what it is you need/want to do with it to suit you.

Yeah that's the plan, I just wanna know what kind of budget I need over winter for the build, I'm hoping to get it in the next little while so I can practice with the summer I have left this year haha

I understand the general rule of thumb with drifting is:

"the greater the horsepower your vehicle has, the less importance is placed on driving skill"

So... budget according to your driving skill, maybe?

Ignore the build. Fix anything that needs fixing. Go drive and change things as you find specific problems.
