I was chatting with someone in the know, a 350whp NA can match a Ferrari F40 at 11.8 and 122mph quarter on street tyres.
That's just mind blowing, but hopefully not 6sp blowing!
Driving this thing is going to be a bit wild.

Do you have a stock unopened motor? How on earth does it last making that much power?!

6 speed will be fine for a while. Your clutch will be your next major decision. Good news is its all in parts so your only up for the cost of it.
You are looking at the same choice as me at the moment with Snowie.
(1) Nathans Tilton twin plate from the NA race car. Might be a bit aggressive for street driving but not sure yet.
(2) Ive been emailing Adam from FRSport.com and he has called ACT and chatted with them for a bit about my car and what where looking for and they clutch kit that they recommended was the following: http://www.advancedclutch.com/zm2-xtss $560.00 US delivered so about $750.00 AUD.
(3) Doug from NPC is recommending a Custom Clutch with extra heavy duty cushion button clutch kit for $753.50 + $40.00 freight.
(4) OS Giken I'm also unsure of. The TS2A is nearly $1900.00 for a street dríven the noise and engagement issues that would drive me nuts.
The GTS1CD 'soft' clutch I'm having trouble finding comments on it and its still $1600.00.
Leaning very much towards NPC and the moment but nothing is set in stone yet.

Yes, im premature, waiting for it to get put back together with all parts for new tune. It is not a stock unopened motor anymore no.

Im crossing my fingers actually, its running an excedy hd clutch... fingers crossed. Im told it will be fine for a street car.

Nope, it won't. It will slip in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th after a couple of weeks. If its new.
Call NPC and ask the what they would recommend. It will save you a whole lot of pain.

Clutches..still looking into it, heading up to see ron tomorrow and drive his cushion button excedy spec race mx5...mimick some traffic and reverse hillstarts, see how it goes. Looking forwards to seeing ron and keith and hopefully putting this clutch thing to bed, spoken to every clutch maker/seller i can find under 1000k in aus. Makes it hard when the guy you talk to on the phone has never dríven what your buying and theres zero refund if it doesnt work as well as he says it will, the issue being button clutch in peak hour and slipping it when needed... the problems of torque...good problems to have but after a week of thinking about it im ready to buy one and just get the build started as the parts have arrived from the states, all with Dann for the rebuild process... then run it in and prepare for the tune...
Speaking of tune, was given (thanks kev and scoot) one of these...
A flex sensor for running duel fuel maps on ms3, one united e85 and the other 98 premium, the flex sensor measures ethanol content in real time and calibrates ignition and fuel instantaneously... safe way to run e85 with all its changes due to season and get full benefit of quality e85 which is sold 50k away in maitland...my local e85 vendor changes the content from approx 70 to 85... pretty important for the motor for it to be right.

I bought a 200l drum of the good E85 and they delivered to my work. Not the United stuff.
Its hurts up front but I can't remember filling up it was so long ago.

Dropped by the mx5 this week to collect some clutch parts for steve at Carters...( can I recommend using Carter's staff change rooms, I suspect it only the mens tho, I felt like I went to 15 yo heaven) this where she's at. Head and block are back from the machinist East Coast Speedworks, rocker cover and plenum/ic pipes are still at spray painters, id1000's still in post...parts from the Fab9 in the states have arrived, all waiting to be re assembled.
Also noting the difference between stock rods.
and the replacement Manley's which are being built up this week.
An excedy cushioned button clutch has been built using a new surfaced flywheel and the HD cover plate. Saved a few dollars by reusing the HD cover plate and replaced the drilled out flywheel as some of the teeth were chewed out..
Motor may be getting dropped back in this weekend...wahoo.
After much reading about all the gearbox options that fit the MX5 that have excellent durability, lightweight, good ratios and the ability to handle unlimited horsepower... ahh none... and only common options are conversions with rb25's, rx7, holden T5, quaife sequential options and no one will agree on which is a good option...Im staying put and crossing my fingers with the 6sp and capping the tune at 295ftpd...maybe 299ftpd (they blow into smithereens the 47th time you go over 300ftpd apparently), which is yet again what Nitro Dann said originally... "I told you that".

Nice! I used manley rods in my engine rebuild. Very nice for the price. I got mine, with wiseco pistons, for about $850.
