Great. Hopefully the bumble bee will be sorted by then too.

Noting the discussion that took place at the end of the last round of the MX5 Cup, is there any plan to amend the regs in relation to classification of vehicles?

Good point Chris thanks for raising that.

Whilst the issue or non-issue of turbo cars was raised, the committee’s view was and remains that the build of a given car is not relevant in time based classes. You are competing with racers in the same time bracket as you, pure and simple. It is not a perfect classing system – name one that is (in the real world). But it has definite advantages, which have been well covered elsewhere.

We are addressing any concerns of ‘sand bagging’ by eliminating break outs. You break out you get bumped. And we will be monitoring performance. If a competitor’s times are materially different from those recorded previously – for a given driver, build, set-up and conditions – questions will be asked. We want racers competing in earnest, not driving to a time. Both these points are contained in the regs.

To relegate turbos to a different competition or classes is contrary to the principles of time based classes. Turbo cars will be in various time brackets up and down the field, and they want to be competing with everybody, not a much reduced pool of cars.

Sadly guys, I'll be missing the Nationals.

The car has some niggling issues that give me concern for running it in the enduro. We are making progress but we have more testing to do before committing to anything more than 10 laps at a time. Damn shame as I was really looking forward to running in such a big field.

Hope you all have fun

I too have concerns about doing the enduro (fuel consumption, cooling etc)
But hey if it will get one of you in for the rest of the meet, I'm happy to let you share the drive in my car for the start of the enduro, if that's ok in the regs? And if you don't mind driving one of the slow cars for 20 to 30 mins :P
So lets go!

Today we reached 30 entries, we still have 5 fence sitters who are fixing cars.
If I'm not mistaken this is the biggest MX5 Race Field ever in Australia, which will be awesome fun.
There is an Official Dinner organised at The Soldiers Club , 6.30 Saturday Night.

Unfortunately the regularity has been cancelled, due to low numbers.

HOWEVER The Saturday of the Nationals weekend you will have the opportunity to inspect the new ND at Wakefield. It will be on display courtesy of Blue Mountains Mazda.

1 week to go until the Nationals.

We have a hectic weekend coming up, 3 races Saturday and the Enduro Sunday with a large, and very fast field.

All competitors receive a great Nationals tee shirt, which are also available for purchase at the track for $20.

Can anyone tell me if the Enduro is on Saturday or Sunday and if there has been a start time nominated in the program???

Would like to get down there and watch if I have time.

Hi mate

The Enduro is on Sunday morning, probably 10ish, the schedule won't be finalised until mid next week. I will advise then. Come and say hi to everyone when you are there.
Craig.
