I replaced one of the worn rubber ones on my car with a new rubber one. The door sounds nicer when it shuts. That's it. No other improvement. I'd expect a similar result with the Delrin blocks.

A rattling door might be bad for the sound quality from the speakers.
A worn out bush (!) might allow the door glass and its runners etc inside the door to rattle. [My driver's side ones rattle again despite a new nylon bush in the runner a couple of years ago.]
Maybe properly fitting stiffer bushes might help slow down door droop over the years.
If a group buy dropped prices significantly I might be in.
My car isn't at home at the moment so I can't check but don't think they're philips screws as described somewhere in one of the links here. Maybe torx?

They are an m6 threaded flanged 10mm head bolt with a Phillips built into the top.

An easy way to check if they'll help is to wrap a few layers of electrical tape over the current existing block, that will take up any slack where the rubber one has worn/deformed over time.

If it makes the door quieter, buy some new blocks, if not, the issue is probably elsewhere

I would be down for a group buy. There's too many people reporting a significant improvement for me to just ignore such a simple upgrade.

people can do what they like of course but you might want to know if there is any affiliation between the web site and the seller. Some people might even wonder if the so call tests have any validity e.g. replace a worn out bush with a new one- proves? If a delrin product was effective including longer term then why did n't Mazda do it. Bear in mind that rubber and metal ( assume the original uses both) is a harder and slower process than just a plain plastic moulding- i.e. cycle times and extra handling etc. In general worn hinges and adjustment on doors is a perennial problem on many older cars in particular and presumably replacing worn items rectifies it?

I'll try a little experiment and report back - essentially, had a sheet of anti-slip matting (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... mendations) I had used in the console pocket to stop the phone slipping around, and to stop stuff rattling around in the centre console. Got some double sided tape and cut a very rough square around the door bushing - closed up okay, so next I get out for a drive (probably over the weekend) I'll see how it goes. Closing the doors didn't seem to generate the usual amount of noise and carry on, but I will concede that's hardly a definitive test.

Seems like that would still have a lot of flex in it. The Delrin is good because of it's rigidity.

Definitely - just intended as a ghetto experiment to see if it quietens the doors/windows down a bit.

Out of interest - what are the OEM ones worth as new replacements? I've had a bit of a trawl through a couple of sites and haven't come across them.
