JDM NA6 speed limiter?

Postby specmiata » Sun Jul 05, 2015 9:41 pm

At a Vic. MX5 Club Sprint Championship track day at Phillip Is. Yesterday and had a weird 'miss' as I changed into 5th down the main straight. Checked it after a few sessions and it did at 180 kph every lap. Turns out it must be a speed limiter due to it being a JDM import.
Anyone know how to disable it????

Thanks.

Interesting. I soldered in a different crystal to increase the RPM to 7400. But removing the screw is a no brainer in comparison.

Edit: oops speed limiter & RPM limiter are different things. Sorry :)

Thanks everyone, so just one screw and it's gone!
